96% of viewers believe there is a high level cover up of Airport Scandal

The response from our viewers to Tuesday night’s questions on whether there is a cover up by authorities on the facts of the Immigration scandal was a resounding yes. Ninety-six percent of voters on our e-poll said yes while only four percent voted against. In the comments, some point the finger of blame all way up to ministers. One viewer pointed out that “Organizing an international flight is not a one man operation, anyone who has the means to organize said plane in Belize must be quite wealthy. Most of those affluent people have connections to the government on either the Red or Blue side. Sounds like a cover-up to me.”

  1. EMS says:

Ofcourse, this is a cover-up by the ministers and other offiicals of the GOB coupled with some in the businees community. Even blindeye Jamesie could see thru this.

  2. Boris says:

if i am a criminal, there is no need for me blaming my mother for my criminal acts. If senior immigration officers are in this mess and persued other officers to commit the crime, the so far charged immigration officers committed the crime by thier own will, as I have not heard or read that a senior officer put a gun in someones head to sign a paper.

  3. Proud says:

I agree…..lets remember who have been the corrupted ones in the past….people are still in key positions…..

  4. David Ruiz says:

If our Prime Minister is really serious in fighting corruption in this government, he should start by sanctioning, not only the small fish who get the scraps, but those at the top who get the big bite. Why not set precedence and show the Belizean people that there is still hope for good governance?

    Unhappy citizen

  5. Sam Browne says:

One finds it difficult to believe that rank and file officials could keep the airport open after hours to deal with the arrival of any passengers under their own authority. This had to have been sanctioned from above. Is this another “Investigation” that will just fizzle out???
