Charges withdrawn against murder suspect
And while one murder trial is up in the air, one suspect was freed in another case today. The directive came from the Director of Public Prosecutions to withdraw the charge against Kareem Stevens, one of three suspects in the stabbing death of Security Guard, Kaluru Oloungududu on February twenty-fifth. Kaluru was viciously attacked by three men while working the night shift at the Belize Biltmore Plaza Hotel. He was stabbed eight times: twice on the back, once to the right side of his chest, once on the buttocks and twice to the face. Police believe that the assailants had planned to rob the establishment. The other two accused men are Jamaal Jackson and Daniel Myvette, both former employees of the Biltmore. The charges against Steven were withdrawn due to insufficient evidence while the case against Jackson and Myvette continues on November sixteenth. Both men are remanded at the Hattieville Prison awaiting a preliminary inquiry.
Another one falls apart. No surprise there.
Not the judge this time, Rod….this order stems directly from the seemingly worthless DPP office.
What is the purpose of having a DPP and a judicial system if it’s not doing its job??? The criminals are walking free everyday and then the victims’ families are left to try to pick up the pieces. This is a load of crap!!! Waste of taxpayers’ dollars if I must say so myself. VIGILANTE JUSTICE!!! An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and in these times a life for a life! Who else needs to get stabbed or shot for the death penalty to be implemented and enforced? But you know the sad part about this all, the incompetence of those collecting and filing evidence is causing a lot of this nonsense to happen. If they can’t do their JOB properly replace them with someone who can and will.
