Jury finds Ted Armstrong guilty of Manslaughter

Ted Armstrong

Ted Armstrong’s second trial for the murder of Jerome Longsworth did not produce a conviction for murder but for manslaughter. On July fourteenth, 2006, Longsworth was stabbed with a scissors after he was attacked by Armstrong in Hattieville Village.  The attack was as a result of the deceased intervening in a fight between Armstrong and his sister, Rosita. The first trial was held in December of 2009, but was aborted after a police witness made a prejudicial statement during his testimony. The judge stopped the case and ordered a retrial. Today before Justice Herbert Lord, a jury of seven women and five men deliberated for four hours before reaching the guilty verdict for Manslaughter. Armstrong will be sentenced on Friday, October twenty ninth.
