Viewers believe cop should be charged for death of cop
In a memorandum ten pages long, the Director of Public Prosecutions concluded that there is not enough evidence to press murder charges on a sergeant for the killing of a corporal. Corporal Gavin Sanchez was shot multiple times on March eighteenth in the officers’ barracks behind the San Pedro Police Formation. Sergeant Paulino Reyes fired the shots. When the shooting occurred, it caused public outrage and the DPP’s directive is followed by similar outrage. We asked our viewers on Thursday night if Sergeant Reyes ought to be charged for the killing of Corporal Sanchez. Eighty percent said yes while twenty said no. One viewer wrote: “I would have agreed with self defense if the other officer wasn’t shot so many times. Reyes was a trained officer of the law. Even if Sanchez had on a bullet proof vest, he could’ve shot him other places that would’ve stopped him, not killed him.”
It’s not rocket science–9 bullets are too much–Police barracks is a place that any police officer
can go and rest or socialize–EVEN BARROW SUGAR—or even have a fare and hard exchange
with another officer—Verbally sometimes Physically–out of the eyes of the public–It’s human to
disagree —It is wrong and against the laws of Belize for any peace officer to use excessive
force no matter what the situation is—In the case of planting evidence—Belizeans have been
aware of this type of activity–Belizeans are also watchful on people who killed before- Cop or
Citizen–Because any other time it becomes easy for them to act on their murderous
mentality–REYES SHOULD BE IN JAIL…..
The question being asked, personally i think shouldn’t even come to anyones thought i think its completely RIDICULOUS that someone, anyone can shoot someone 9 times and think it was self defense. Officer Sanchez didn’t even get a chance to fire a shot and got shot 9 times his ankles we’re shattered his knees, for christ sakes he got shot twice in the head i mean cmon who is the DPP working for?, the police department, the Government or for the people?? Maybe she should be investigated under circumstances of a murder cover up, if we don’t do something about the bad conditions we currently face in Belize at the moment then God help Belize!! I remember when i could walk anywhere at anytime or go play in anyones yard, marble was the game… now we cant even look at someone for too long, or step on a foot by accident because am drunk in the club, cops are killing citizens and each other now and what is our officials and leaders doing about it?? Waiting to collect the next TAXED dollar out of the same peoples pocket they don’t care about!!! That is sick!!! these people that allow these things to happen should be penalized to the fullest extent!! And you MS. DPP u better start working for the dollar your taking or find something else to do!
