Youth who was shot by cop, now charged for burglary

A sixteen year old was shot on Wednesday morning by the police in the St. Martin’s de Pores Area. The minor and his stepfather were on their way back home and had stopped at an unoccupied house when the officer opened fire. The bullet hit the minor on the knee and a video shows the police standing around as he fell to the ground. But today, the shooting victim, Jarron Gray, became a suspect. The minor, who is a member of the Belize Youth Cadet Corp, was hauled to court along with his stepfather, twenty-five year old Leon Yorke, aka “Beef”. They were charged with Burglary for entering the home of Jacqueline Taibo on Jasmine Street.  They didn’t steal anything but the charge sheet says they entered with the intent to steal even though the house was unoccupied. In court this morning, the duo pleaded not guilty to the charge. The minor was handed back to the care of his mother Sharlette Gray, who told our court reporter that the two left home to clean a yard but the owner was not ready and they were heading back home when they stopped by Taibo’s house where the police caught up with them and opened fire. Gray lives nearby on Berry Street and says that after she heard the shots, she saw a police officer force her son to the ground.

of course di mami whe say now…..” sweet little angels”….. but two nights ago in the news I clearly remember the lady saying the moment she heard shots she knew it was her son….. why??

Did she know what they really going to?? Women… are those the type of men you choose to father your children?? Do you like to suffer???

To me sounds like good police timing…..

typical mother after a crime committed and thanks for the good effort the police are doing to curb this crimes happening so often which is getting to be like a norm in the communities which shouldn’t happen.

I am totally in agreement with you guys and do you know why the house up the street was abandoned most likely the owner try to build it and as they put the material there they are stealing it what the heck were they doing at the property anyhow abandon or not that is private property but most Belizeans don’t know how to respect private property.
