P.M. travels to Barbados to meet with Board of Governors of the C.D.B.

dean barrow

There’s enough anguish in the wake of the category one hurricane that hit hard on Sunday. An official preliminary estimate of the damage stands at thirty-three million dollars, but the citrus industry alone has reported over thirty-two million dollars in losses. That’s millions of dollars that won’t be easy to come by and we do hope that that is why Prime Minister Dean Barrow left Belize today to meet with the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank in Barbados on Friday. While he is there, the PM will also attend the state funeral of the Former Prime Minister of Barbados, David Thompson who succumbed to pancreatic cancer this past Saturday at his home. Channel Five will have special coverage over the weekend on Thompson’s life and his funeral on November third. We do note that in Barrow’s absence, Minister of Defence and Immigration, Carlos Perdomo, will be the acting Prime Minister until DPM Gaspar Vega returns to the country on October thirty-first. Barrow is expected to return to Belize on November fourth.

I am still waiting to hear what the prime minister has to say concerning the aftermath of the hurricane, so far there are no reports of what his feeling or thought are concerning the people of belize, instead he hauls @@# off to barbados to meet others, should’nt he be the one going around the country acessing the damage, and assuring the people he ” should be leading” that he will try to help, and also there are so much children dispalced by this storm, what is “the so called first lady” doing to ensure that the children are taken care of? is’nt she the person responsible for children? OH ! i almost forgot barrow cannot leave without her.

  5. Belizean Boy says:

SET YOU JACKASSES!!!! JUST LIKE YOUR LEADER, ONLY I DON’T KNOW WHICH OF YOU HAVE THE TAIL.

  7. Dan says:

Stop criticizing and complaining! Look at the good side of things. We must all learn to look up to God and not to government! I believe the PM also is looking up to God because only God has the solutions!
Let us learn to be supportive and to pray for the PM! You are just by the side in your corner and you don’t know what the man is going through! Go pray for the PM and for Belize! Enough of complains and criticisms. More of prayer and trusting GOD!

  8. Rizzo says:

I guess God is in Barbados… Silly Dan! I hope God puts a roof over the people that no longer have one. This is a matter that the Government needs make their number one priority. Sucks that the PM of Barbado died but Belize have several people that are suffering and he could have sent Carlos Perdomo there to take notes. I am assuming that he just dont want to take responsibility for any decissions and if Carlos Perdomo makes a bad one he will just blame him. Another debt that Belize will incurr. let just see the spending plan on that funds. 1 million for the city and 30 million to the government.

  9. ned says:

Dan has the best comments, its much harder to do something constructive than to just sit on your behind and complain. We no business to complain unless we have done what we can do. Since when has the PM become your provider, the last time I checked we live in a country that honors hard work and self disicpline.

  10. LOVELY says:

WELL SAID DAN..HATS OFF TO YOU….AND ….WESTERNMERMAID…..AM PROUD OF YOU….ALL THEY LOOK FOR IS THE BAD, WHAT ABOUT ALL THE GOOD THIS PM HAS DONE FOR OUR NATION….STOP CRITICIZING THE PRIME MINISTER, IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO A BETTER JOB THAN THE PM WHY DONT YOU JUST GO OUT THERE AND DO IT AND STOP TALKING BULLCROP

  11. Belizean Boy says:

Westermaid or MAID…..u mussy the clean Barrow dog @#$%. Lovely u mussy the clean Barrow @#$% tank….both of unu dah so @#$%ing idiot…….The man buisness dah Belize the tek care of his ppl…..noh Barbados…..cyah see the man noh care about his country……maybe if some ppl from Barbados house mi drop down then he mi gwen round deh go help them.

  12. mean says:

Oh Lovely, you are probably one of those people that are benefiting from this government. No one who is going through the hardship that this government is putting us true can agree with what the Prime Minister is doing. Common the prime minister of Barbados is dead, let somebody represent Belize. Our Prime Minister should remain in our country and come out with plans as to how to help our hurricane victims. Oh but who cares it was the southside people that were affected, so who care they had nothing in the first place, why worry. I bet if it was the rich side, marine parade and all the rich areas the Prime Minister himself would have been visiting the areas and making plans to fix the areas. Everybody can see it crystal clear that this Prime Minister does not care for Belize. After all he plans to retire anyway after his term is up so who cares if he is not voted in again. Belize suffer while the Pm and his wife spend the tax payers money and tour the world
