Alleged Guatemalan drug lord taken to the Big Apple
Alleged Guatemalan drug lord, Otoniel Turcios Marroquin was captured in Belize last Monday. He was escorted to the Philip Goldson International Airport by the Commander of the Anti Drug Unit, and was promptly handed over to U.S. authorities and whisked away in a waiting small white plane on October twenty-seventh. The flight was bound for Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As the picture shows, Marroquin has now landed in New York, where he is expected to face a litany of drug trafficking related charges. Turcios’ attorneys in Belize allege that he was kidnapped and they were not allowed to see him. Furthermore, Turcios should have been deported to Guatemala and not expelled to the United States.

Why should he have been sent to Guatemala? Belize has a bilateral extradition treaty with the US.

If someone commits a crime in Belize and they are in they US, then the GOB can request extradition from US back to Belize.
Make sure I understand this, the guy is in Belize illegally, wanted by a country that Belize has a treaty with for some major criminal operations we know about, he probably can pull together a large criminal army to break himself free of jail with money he has; why bother arresting him and keeping him at Hatteville to send him back to Guatemala?
this guy deserves whatever he gets if indeed he is a drug pusher but the laws of the land should be respected by all in the land why do things illigally why kidnap someone this just shows that something is not right and that we should not be the us lap dog like this pm and his gov are just for a few pieces of silver the law should be respected by all look at the murderers who are getting bail what do you call that you try to murder someone you are caught they know you did it and then you are granted bail does this make anysense something stinks dig deep channel5 dig deep into the rodwell williams case.
iN THE FIRST REPORT,I READ tURCIOS WAS A BELIZEAN CITIZEN EITHER BY MARRIAGE OR NATURALIZATION.LATER ON,ON ANOTHER BROADCAST,THERE NO MENTION OF IT.IF HE WAS ONLY A GUATEMALAN,SHIPPING HIM TO THE US WAS GOOD,BUT IF HE WAS ALSO A BELIZEAN CITIZEN,THEN DUE PROCESS WAS NOT ADHERED TO.
He’s a drug dealer no good to society, why are lawyers wasting their time to prove he was kidnapped. People like that are the reason for high levels of crime.
why is this still on our news? next.
The issue whether he was a drug lord or not is still not established. The man deserved a fair trail. He should have been sent to the courts in Belize to determine the extradition. as a far as the law is concerned the man had not committed an offence in Belize. The USA needs to do something about their drug hungry country and because without demand their would be no drugs.
hahaha—– lvl u funny
Let’s look ahead here. He gets convicted, serves a few years of a 15 stretch in jail in the US then deported. Where to? His last place of residence outside of the US – BELIZE!!
Probably get an apartment next to another rich deportee – No names here, but his dad is the current Crime Minister!
yow ah true ow everyone deserve a fair trail, das messed up how dey did him an other ppl who dah same has happen to.two wrongs nuh mek wah rite but di same way dem kidnap ppl an hand dem over ah the same treatment dem idiot police bwai dem need fi get 2.all dem do is bow down to uncle sam an do der dirty work 4 dem lok how dem mek di jamaicans dem kill up dem self fi mek dem get dudus
Eventhough he was illegtally in the country doesn’t mean to do this. If he is a drug trafficker he needs to get behind bars but we have laws in this country concerning extradiction to the US. There are protocols to follow and not only to dissaappear like that imagine if it was a Belizean and the same happen. He should have gotten a court hearing and presented the extradiction and whatever but in court and then decide what to do…… Gringos won’t send any gringo extradicted from the US like that theyare not fools. They would give a lot of hassle before they send somebody knowing the person is guilty…we need not to just bend ourselves to the US for a couple dollars. Or just because they give us grants and some money for here and there and we like @##es would do whatever for them……..Hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!
