P.M. visits those affected by Hurricane Richard
Prime Minister Dean Barrow left Belize immediately after Hurricane Richard. We were told he was going to a CDB meeting in Barbados and would stay on for the funeral of Former Prime Minster David Thompson. Well, he did go to the CDB meeting, we still don’t know if he brought back money but he didn’t attend the state funeral; in fact he was in Miami over the weekend until he returned to the country on Tuesday. Today, finally he made it to see the needy citizens of the country many of whom are homeless. Most of the affected residents in the area want to know when the government will provide them with new houses, after all he did say that every victim will get a new house. In fairness though, he did say he didn’t know where the money would come from or whether it would be in the form of loans or grants.

Public Relations at work…..
he is only visiting the victims because the Leader of the Opposition has been visiting and helping the needy…the victims of Hurricane Richard….
the money will come from Grants….LOANS and TAX…..
I am not politically affiliated but only post my observation.
POWER TO THE BELIZEANS….
imagine its more important for this pm to take another vacation instead of staying in the country after one of the worse storms to hit belize in years shows you how much he cares about the people in belize in other words people he doesnt give a damm about you and the calamities befalling the country how sad to have a pm who doesnt care about his country and people he would rather take another vacation in miami and he didnt bring back not one cent instead he and his wife spent over 10 thousand dollars of the hard earned money of the belizeans on another vacation between barbados and miami while people are starving and homeless well if we no get rid a this guy then we deserve it.
it’s being collected already in the extera charge in gasoline and soon more price will go up so we already started helping the needed not the goverment.
PM don,t know where the money is going to come from to rebuild. Tell me,…don’t Belize have oil money? When will oil revenues be used to develop this country?

How do you know it was the hard earned money of Belizeans? As the PM, he gets paid. As a lawyer, he used to get paid. Quite a bit. I know this, because he was my neighbor for quite some time. Make informed comments instead of blurting out random silliness that you have absolutely nothing to back up.
When have you ever heard of a Prime Minister or President to leave his country after a disaster? Only The Honourable???? DEAN BARROW!!! He should have stayed home and walked among the people who were devastated by hurricane Richard instead of going away on vacations. Do you really think it is only his money he is spending? He has a salary as Prime Minister, shouldn’t he have stayed to do his job? But, what can we expect from our Honourable??? Prime Minister who chose to get married in the US instead of his supposedly beloved Belize? He went to spend the money there and forgot all about bringing revenue to his own country!
D-Power:
“When will oil revenues be used to develop this country?”
Wont happen – does not serve the needs of the Elite to develop and educate the country.
(I pray I am wrong)
When will the PM stop showing the Belizean People how incompitent he is?Why would a leader leave his country in a time of such devastation? This just show that this man care less about what happen to the Belizean Citizens. Why was travelling to Barbados much important than the welfare of the Belizean Citizens?Shame on you Mr Barrow. What have you done for the Belizean People?

Do you know WHY he went to get married OUTSIDE the country? If you don’t, how can you make a comment on it? He went outside the country to get married because his wife’s (then fiance)’s mother lives in Savannah, and she can’t travel for whatever reason (more than likely health reasons). If you don’t have facts about stuff, don’t post stupid comments.

It’s just amazing to see how many people post ignorantly simply because they have the Internet. That same Internet can help you get a lot of things straight.
Who the hell cares where PM said “I DO”? Hurricane Richard devastated the nation since almost 2 weeks ago and to date we have families with children sleeping on the muddy floors in shelters in Hattieville and in roofless homes in the city. If our PM doesnt want to micromanage, atleast have a strong talk with the useless area rep in Hattieville, who’s been missing in action since the storm.
L.C. : Do you get paid to defend the Prime Minister? Why do you care so much and about our opinions and comments against Mr. Barrow? If we are wrong, please tell him to prove it to us simply by doing his job!!!!! Tell Mr. Barrow, your beloved and much defended neighbour to help those poor people who are sleeping in the parks after the hurricane destroyed their homes. Is it too hard or complicated for him to do his job? It seems the job of Prime Minister is too big for him!
HE should PUT HIS PEOPLE FIRST…………….. if he REALLY CARED.
