City faces two more robberies
Police are still trying to close in on the assailants of Monday night’s armed robbery at Seashore Store in Belama Phase one. The attack occurred at around seven o’clock and lasted for a little over a minute. The robbers, who first approached the security guard outside the store and carried him inside the business, then took about twelve hundred dollars from the cash pan, and fled. Before they left, one of the three thieves also pistol-whipped the cashier on her face and left hand. So far, the owners of the store have also done their investigations and believe that the three culprits are also responsible for a similar attack at Jackie’s Store in the same area. Meanwhile, the one thousand dollars that is being offered by the proprietor for information leading to arrests and convictions of the trio is still up for grabs. If you recognize the faces of the gunmen in the images captured on the surveillance camera, you’re asked to call 622-8868 or the police at 222-2222.
On Tuesday evening, two gunmen made off with an undisclosed quantity of money from Santiago Castillo Ltd. At about a quarter to six, an employee, thirty-eight year old Jose Hamilton, was making a night deposit at FirstCaribbean Bank in the San Cas Plaza. Hamilton told police that as he was dropping off the deposit bag, he was approached from behind and held at gunpoint by the two men. One assailant ordered him to hand over the bag, which contained cash and cheques collected from the day’s sales. The other gunman then relieved Hamilton of his computer bag which contained personal documents. Both robbers then made off on motorcycle across the Bel-Can Bridge.
