3 Dangriga residents busted with Marijuana

It’s a sizeable quantity of drugs and a huge bust for the Punta Gorda police. Three Dangriga residents are in police custody in Punta Gorda after being busted with marijuana.  The trio was traveling along the Southern Highway in the direction of Dangriga Town when they were collared at a checkpoint in the Toledo District.  When they noticed the heavy police presence along the stretch of road they tried getting rid of the illegal cargo by tossing the bags through the vehicle’s passenger window.  News Five spoke with Senior Superintendent Robert Mariano who told us about the drug bust.

“On the third of November, 2010 about 7:40 p.m. P.G. police conducted an anti-drug operation between Silver Creek Village and San Miguel Village in the Toledo District where they intercepted a white Toyota Corolla car license plate Dangriga B00089. Upon approaching the police checkpoint one of the occupants threw out a large plastic bag from inside the car.  The vehicle was then stopped where the police saw three occupants inside, namely: Ian Chiu, thirty-five years, Kendrick Drysdale, twenty years, and Clarence Cain, twenty-four years, all laborers of Dangriga Town.  They were taken to the spot where the large plastic bag was thrown.
