Police constable is allegedly a chain snatcher?

Michael Diaz

Trial started today for a Police Constable who allegedly doubles as a chain snatcher. Twenty-two year old Eberto Castellanos is accusing PC Michael Diaz of grabbing a six hundred and seventy-five dollars gold chain from around his neck in broad daylight. Castellanos testified that he was walking on West Collet Canal at around twelve-thirty in the afternoon when he was approached by Diaz, who was on a bicycle going opposite to the flow of traffic. Diaz allegedly grabbed the chain and sped off but Castellanos set chase, caught him and demanded the jewelry back. Just after Diaz handed over the chain, a police officer in the area detained him and escorted him to the Queen Street Police Station. The interdicted cop is receiving half his pay pending the outcome of his trial.

Police constable? Dont they go through a detail back ground check to give them the official title? Cause for Polica constable to snatch chain from citizen? Just as the same Police officers are doing what they are not suppose to do! So what will the future people think of the officers? As a child, we were taught to belived that Police is the law enforcer, we should respect them, and that they protect the good and arrest the bad. But if this continues, I think all Belizean in the near future, will no longer belived in the justice system if they dont start to make sure who they are hiring has a good back ground rather than just hire for hire sake.

He should not be allowed back on the force how can he uphold the law if he is breaking it and how can he be honest about anything else?

Who is this idiot related to? I hope Crispin can fire him & not have to rehire him under pressure from above.

Why is he receiving half of his salary? He cannot be trusted to man a desk or on the streets & should not be paid unless & until he is acquitted. Speed up the trial if necessary but don’t pay this thief to do nothing.

HALF HIS PAY? HE IS STILL GETTING PAID? WHAT F**** IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY? As far as I understand in any organization that an employee is found stealing is a definite FIRE for him/her. Now being a cop and stealing outside? What the F**** is wrong with the police? Oh I get it, if you be a good police you get full pay, and if you be a bad police you get half pay? WHAT? THIS IS NONSENSE!!!!!!!! NONSENSE!!!! WAKE UP BELIZE!!! WAKE UP AND STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!!! Even if it mean standing against the DEVIL himself.
