Will the Seawell Brothers be extradited to the USA?

The Seawell brothers were back in court today where a preliminary inquiry was expected to proceed prior to their extradition hearing. But attorney Elston Kaseke, representing Mark and Gary Seawell, sought an adjournment to December fourteenth. According to Kaseke, three witnesses who were named when the evidence from the United States Department of Justice was presented are now in Belize but are saying they do not have any evidence against the Seawells. Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb McKenzie granted the adjournment and ordered that submissions be delivered to the court by December second. Magali Perdomo, who appeared on behalf of the Solicitor General’s Office and the US Embassy, was clearly frustrated that the case is being drawn out and informed the chief magistrate that they intend to object to Kaseke’s submission on the grounds that they are only in a preliminary inquiry and not in trial.  The Seawell brothers are wanted by the US for alleged drug trafficking and money laundering dating back to the mid nineties.

Of course the witnesses in Belize don’t want to tell what they know to defence lawyers. Their lives are at risk, such is the state of witness safety here. Time is long past pandering to criminals who are destroying a beautiful country for the good people. Let the Seawells go present their defence in the USA, and get them out of here.

OFCOURSE THEY WILL CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY HAVE NO RIGHTS AT ALL. I KNOW THAT THEY MAY HAVE COMMITTED CRIMES BUT THEY SHOULD BE CHARGED AND JAIL HERE IN THEIR COUNTRY. IF SOMEONE IS WANTED IN BELIZE AND AMERICA HAS THEM THERE IS NO WAY THAT THEY WILLINGLY WILL HAND OVER THEIR CITIZENS BUT IN BELIZE ALL THE ALMIGHTY AMERICA HAS TO DO IS ASK. THOSE COURT HEARING ARE FRAUD BECAUSE THEY ALREADY KNOW THOSE GUYS ARE GOING BACK SO STOP WASTE THEIR TIME AND MONEY BY ACTING LIKE THEY GIVE A DAMN WHAT HAPPENS TO BELIZEAN CITIZENS. EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD PROTECT THEIR CITIZENS EXCEPT BELIZE AS BAD AS MEXICO MAY BE U CANT WALTZ INTO MEXICO AND DEMAND FOR SOMEONE TO BE TAKEN FOR CRIMES THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN I LIKE HOW THEY STAND THEIR GROUND.

BEFORE we honor any more extradition requests, we should get back the BELIZEANS that were KIDNAPPED By DEA n’ BELIZE POLICE before any kind of legal hearing could have been held, A CRIME is A CRIME (KIDNAPPING) even if it’s state, as is in the cases of Hertular n’ Herbert even our supreme court ruled that they were illegally removed from Belize…so UNTIL the GREAT U.S. of A respect our laws NO MORE EXTRADITIONS !!! Both UDP n’ PUP allows our justice system to be disrespected kissing up to U.S. of A ! RETURN THE KIDNAPPED BELIZEANS (innocent until PROVEN guilty ) !

Extradite the BASTARDS ? I do not nthink that it will happen..the money that they made from drugs that should have been confiscated along with all other properties they own will find it.s way into the hands of those with hands outstretched and, thereby circumvent the law.

Are they better off in a US jail after they are convicted or dead in the streets of Belize after the court sets them free? And how many bodies will precede their death?
