George Pipersburgh gunned down in murder capital

Only fifteen minutes later and not too far away a second Belize City man was ambushed and shot. The victim is George Pipersburgh, the uncle of Neisa Pipersburgh, a high school graduate that was murdered and dumped in the Faber’s Lagoon. At the site where Neisa’s body was found on June twenty-first, a bus heading up the Western Highway slammed into the back of a pickup that George and other family members were in. He was flung from the pan of the truck and slammed into the windshield of the bus before landing on the roadside. While he survived that incident, George was killed instantly when he was shot to the face last Friday. Police say they found him lying face up over the bicycle he was riding.

“This one occurred somewhere on Duck Lane, a little off Water Lane where police responded to another report where they saw George Pipersburgh suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. Pipersburgh apparently died on the spot and our investigations reveal that he was just riding his bicycle in that area when he was approached by a gunman by a gunman that fired the fatal shot to him, apparently claiming his life.”

“Not established as yet. Yes we do have persons of interest that we are looking for but again we’re asking the public assistance in this.”

“Well, not to police but people know them. They are always in the streets.”

Pipersburgh’s family is planning a wake for tonight and he will be laid to rest on Tuesday.
