Fugitive, Carlos Keme handed over to Belizean authorities
While US fugitive, James Donald Baker, will be deported to the US on Wednesday, Carlos Keme, the man who local police had on their wanted list for murder is back in their custody. The fugitive was handed over to Belizean authorities today by their Mexican counterparts. Keme was apprehended in Mexico earlier this month. It is expected that Keme will now stand trial for murder and escape. Keme is accused of the 2009 murder of Karina Daniels, his girlfriend who was four months pregnant at the time. Her body was discovered in some bushes in Orange Walk Town. Keme had reportedly confessed to the killing, but absconded to Mexico thereafter. He is believed to be a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang.
