Price of Butane goes up!
The baking of your ham, turkey and black cake will add to the pinch in your pockets this Christmas. That’s because the price per hundred pound cylinder of butane will be jacked up by a whopping eight dollars across the board. So brace yourselves for the new prices: as of Friday, Belize City and Corozal residents will pay one hundred and twenty-two dollars for cooking gas and those are the lowest figures. It’s a hundred and twenty-three dollars in Orange Walk and in the west, Belmopan and San Ignacio consumers will pay a hundred and twenty-four. Even further west, butane will sell for a hundred and twenty-five dollars in Benque. And heading south, one hundred and twenty-six dollars is the new price in Dangriga and the folks in Punta Gorda will be charged one hundred and twenty-seven bucks. There was a two dollar jump in the price of butane on September twenty-seventh and another less than a month later on October twentieth.
The price of gas has gone up globally and see this is reflected in the cost of butane in Belize. People will need to learn to use their gas more efficiently, cooking larger amount but less often and freezing food. Cost of living is rising globally and there is no reason why Belize will escape this and so people will need to evaluate their way of living and possibly make changes.
CAN’T THEY TELL US ON MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY……… so we could STOCK UP at the old price?????
TELLING ME ON THURSDAY that the PRICES rise ON FRIDAY is…………… UNCONSCIONABLE.
why is it that when we need the gas for special occasion these sobs tend to raise the price. jeez, why or what makes the price go up all of a sudden, when BNE is producing butane gas, can’t we get a better price during these hard time, or NO MATTA WAT we say or do we still have to pay since the consumer dept. seems to ignore this hard changes. trucks fill butane at BNE will their price go up also or only the import gas?
