Ministry of Works plans to fix pot holed streets
One of the big issues facing Carlos Perdomo in the Caribbean Shore areas is the bad condition of streets, which like many other areas in the city have suffered from neglect. But not for much longer, that’s the promise from the Minister of Works, Anthony “Boots” Martinez, who told News Five that come February, Belize City streets should take on a whole new look.
Anthony “Boots” Martinez, Minister of Works
“We have seen some improvement with the streets in Belize City over the years. Albert Street, Regent Street, Water Lane, St. Joseph Street, Orange Street, West Street. We have seen major improvement in terms of the street, but more is coming. I think that we would want to fix all, but more is coming. At least through the government and under the south side project more infrastructure will be coming.”
………..!!!
FIX THE STREETS YOU !@#$%^ THIEF !!!
CRACKHEAD as you see ah!!!!
How generous of the Minister to worry about the streets in Perdomo political area just in time for his election. I wonder when he will get around to fixing the road for Progresso which according to him contracts have been signed left right and center, monies have been in place since last year and we have yet to see one stone move on the Progresso Orange Walk road. What is the hold up do we have to wait until election time also. I sure hope the monies for Progresso do not end up in Carribean shores streets just so Mr. Perdomo can be re elected like it did before when it went to Albert and Regent streets.
Mr Martinez we in Progresso have cars too and our behinds and backs are delicate too not only Belize city know how to ride on smooth streets. I am sure Progresso have been riding on this deplorable road a lot longer than the people of Mr. Perdomo’s area. Still waiting for you to be a man of your word in Progresso, don’t wait until election to pimp us with a road.
how about the street passing in front of customs by port? the holes are so big if boots ever go there we probably never find him again because he’s likely to drown in one of the lakes in the middle of the streets. Customs bring GOB millions a month sometimes over a million a day and GOB doesn’t spend any of it to fix the street leading to customs office. what a shame.
In the Cayo District we are so ashame of the streets that we cover our faces with female under wear.Foreigners that come here look into our faces(the ones of us that don`t use female under wear to cover up) and wonder if this is the BEST that we can do. Look at Mechor city just across the border, they have far better streets than we have here in Cayo! And their Quetzal money values far less than our BZ dollar, so where is our money ? Great shame!!!
Talking about Melchor, we see dozens and DOZENS of Guatemalan drivers coming into cayo to do taxi service. They full their tanks in Melchor, run cheaper here in cayo with their cheap gas, they go home with our BZ dollars. They don`t spend our money here, they spend in Melchor. And that is so good for our Government, good protest against the high fuel prices…thanks Guatemalans for teaching Barrow and the Cayo district town boards a good LESSON!!!
Very disappointed about this. He is using his position for political support. I am sure there is name for this. There are more places around the country that have pot holes and are far important to the economy of the country.
Well……….. IT’S ABOUT TIME!!! LET’S SEE SOME ACTION ALREADY!!!!! and………………………….
STOP PLAYING POLITICS with what you are supposed to do normally.
Street country wide in the town and villages needs repairs, not only in Belize City.
come west st needs a lot of renovations to occcur on the street and u b sayin all this crap…u can even drive or less walk safely on that street especially when ut rains and the street is flood…so stop talking a lot of bs
I would like for someone to ask BOOTS whow fix the umpteen pot holes in Los Lagos??? Mein the street are terible and we get the turn around that the village council is responsible, then we hear about some community group , then you hear the government. We need someone to take responsibility as RESIDENTS FROM LOS LAGOS PAY TAXES TOO….
well around my area in santa elena lately montero has been scraping the road that has been there without no fixing since the p.u.p was elected. More jokely is that he stands there infront of the grader working and snappinga pics for political purpose, mein, this is their job leave the pic shots montero and make people see that you work, people want actions not picture. but good you’re doing what the pup never did but hope you continue working not only now but all alround the santa elena and san ignacio streets. for that people voted you to work for the people.
talk about the streets, well guess what, I am fed up with PUDP, olrando habet was mayor for years, nothing change, except his life change financially for the better, punchies come in for another years, nothing happen, except he build a big house for himself john come in nothing di happen.
Names change but the streets stay the same, holy and muddy, and dusty and you name it.
PUP was in for ten years, nothing happen, the only thing I can say that PUP did was left the country broke, her come UDP, trying but still nothing di happen. Streets saty di same, even the garden of eden had better streets at that time, I bet you that!!!!!
Fix the pot holes and stop the politricks.
