Ministry of Works employee ‘worked’ construction material for himself

A Ministry of Works employee has been arrested and criminally charged after he could not account for building materials that were removed from the ministry’s warehouse at mile three on the Western Highway. Works Administrator and the brother of the Minister of Works, forty-six year old Edward Martinez, reported to police this past Thursday that fifty-four year old Crispin Lino had signed for fifty sheets of zinc and a total of seventy-three pieces of assorted lumber. The materials were for a repair project but Martinez says that when he the building he found that only thirty sheets of zinc and twenty-four pieces of lumber had been used. That left materials, valuing one thousand, one hundred and twenty-eight dollars, that Lino could not account for. Following Martinez’ report, Lino was detained and charged with Theft on Friday.

  3. Common Sense says:

Not sure what a “10 Commandment” is Earl, religious morality is a dying way of life among many here, it seems!

“Who does he think he is? A minister?” – BZNinCALI….LOL!

  4. bzmar says:

Bottom line is that he stole what does not belong to him. He did not steal from the government, he stole from the people of Belize.

He stole from the tax payers. He stole from me and you.

Wake Belize, the government does not make Money, it spends the money. We make the money, we are the tax payers. And it is not fair from someone to steal when we have to work hard to make a living.

  5. Jose Chacon says:
