While a son-in-law is accused for the murder of his mother-in-law, Lavern “Anti-Christ” Longsworth is behind bars tonight for the murder of her common-law-husband. Longsworth is the court personality who set her common-law-husband, David White on fire during a domestic dispute back on July fifteenth. Longsworth was initially charged with attempted murder and was released on bail of six thousand dollars. But when White succumbed to his injuries on August second, it was anticipated that the charges would be upgraded.

White’s family was adamant that she should be charged with Murder while Longsworth crossed her fingers and hoped for the lesser charge. It is known that she was in an abusive relationship. At arraignment today, Longsworth was emotional and was given a few minutes to be comforted by her sister before she was escorted to the prison. Longsworth will spend the Christmas behind bars and is to return to court on December thirtieth. The dispute started just before midnight on July fifteenth and in the heat of the argument White was doused with kerosene and set on fire. Reports are that White ran out of the house, but Longsworth followed him and tried to put out the flames. Longsworth gave details of the incident in a television interview, but we are told that the charge was placed after consultations with the DPP’s office.
of course she goes to jail for defending herself, should she have let him kill her instead. and it would have been good and ok for him to get none or maybe three years. thats crazy.

This is a rediculous situation, a woman who was prevoked into a desperate act to defend herself has to suffer a farcical charge of murder. In the mean time her children suffer for the desire for revenge by a mother who had no care for a son.
I like how u guys sympathize. If her defense is provocation then the law says you are not guilty of murder but manslaughter you still go to jail. Provocation is a partial defense. If her defense is diminished responsibility then the law says you are held in custody in a mental institution at the Queen’s pleasure. If your defense is that some one made me kill him then you still go da jail. That is not a defense to murder. Only if your defense to murder self defense do you beat the murder indictment. You have to be able to convince the jury on the balance of probabilities that your defense is valid. You don’t prove it to the judge. The jury is the trier of fact. They are the only ones who determine whether you are guilty or not when you are on trial. There is absolutely nothing wrong in charging her. If she has a defense then let it be tested at trial. The only thing is that a Belizean jury is almost certain to acquit this lady.
Dickie where are you? Lavern needs your help. Whether or not she meets our standards of “normal”, no one deserves to be beaten & she had every right to defend herself. The man’s mother got her pound of flesh, someone messed up Lavern’s face after his family threatened her. How many other families have watched their loved ones murders go unpunished due to witness intimidation, police corruption & DPP inefficiency & now you are appeasing someone’s mother by prosecuting this woman. Justice should be blind, not stupid.
She was beaten and would have been hkilled so that is clear self defense. Hope she gets off as she deserves a life now that the real criminal is dead!
He should have learned to drop and roll…drop and roll! He looks like an abuser who got what was coming to him. I would plead temporary insanity due to years of physical and emotional abuse. Hell has no fury like a woman scorned, I personally would have gone for hot oil but gasoline will do. No sympathy for women beaters or man beaters, people should really learn to keep their hands to themselves when in relationships. tsk tsk tsk, his mom should have raised him better than for beating women.
I have a few stupid relatives who are letting their men get away with beating them it’s refreshing to see a woman stand up for herself. No doubt he would have killed her in due time if she continued to let him abuse her.
This woman was obviously being abuse by this scum bag and she got tired of his $hit. It seems that the law wasn’t doing nothing to protect her so she defended her self. Good job! That bastard is still probably burning in hell right now as I am bolgging. To all women out their, if your so called man abuse you, don’t wait for so called justice, defend yourself. why should a mother be behind bars just before christmas. that man beat her for years .did anyone feel her pain ?no!!! its self defend more women need to stand up for them self.
