Security Guard charged with Aggravated Assault of fellow guard
A security guard who showed up late for work and appeared under the influence of alcohol is behind bars tonight after he allegedly pulled his point twenty-two service pistol and fired it at a co-worker. The incident allegedly happened during an argument on Saturday night at the Northern Fisherman Cooperative on North Front Street after Thirty-three year old Cesar Pop showed up late to relieve the co-worker of his duties. Pop, an employee of Triple A Security Company, was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault before Magistrate Albert Hoare and initially pleaded guilty. But Pop then said he never assaulted anyone and was merely checking his gun. Magistrate Hoare entered a not guilty plea on his behalf and remanded him to prison. The alleged offense was committed upon Nigerian national, Ginikandu Chinedu Anyiwo. Anyiwo told police that on Saturday evening Pop and another Security Guard, arrived to relieve him and he asked Pop why he was late and that was when Pop took out the gun and shot towards the ground. Anyiwo said he became frightened and ran into the cooperative bathroom where he called the police. Pop is due back in court on January twenty first.

Merry Xms Pop…hope the Nigerian no di lie
Balla desagradable noticia, lo que ase el alcohol y las malas decisiones. Todo lo que asemos tiene consecuencias nosotros decidimos que consecuencias queremos ver en nuestras vidas.
Pop admitted that he was drunk & fired his weapon. Liquor is called liquid courage & instant @$$hole for a reason. We have enough problems with the “sober” people in Belize misusing weapons. Jail time is probably the best rehab & incentive for him to give up that bottle.
