Spoken Word: Fresh voices reverberate at launch of Youth Voices

Micah ‘Mighty Mike’ Goodin

Youth Voices is a two year project designed to mold the talent of the next generation. The project will hone raw talent of poets with writing workshops and slam competitions. Taking youth and their aggression off the street is an important part of the project’s design.

But at the zenith of its inception, it is all about spoken word.  The project was launched last week Friday night at the Image Factory with guest artists along with some of the voices and powerful thoughts that will continue to be heard on stage. News Five was there to capture some of the spoken word.
