Rare guilty verdict in Court for murder
There has not been a murder conviction for some time according to our records; that is until today when a jury handed down a guilty verdict. The jury, comprised of eight women and four men, found Orlando Wade guilty of the 2008 Murder of Sandhill resident, Dorla Pitterson Slusher. It took over three hours of deliberation before the unanimous decision was announced. Wade was the last person Slusher was seen with before her partially nude body was found in an abandoned latrine behind Sylvia’s Cool Spot on June twenty-fourth. The main witness in the case was Barry Rosalez, who testified that around twelve-thirty that morning, he went over to Silvia’s Cool Spot and saw Wade beating Slusher. He claims Wade yelled at him and he left. But the following morning Rosalez says he visited Wade, who confessed to him that he strangled Slusher and threw her body into the latrine. Wade is said to have dared Rosalez to go and check if he didn’t believe. And that’s how Rosalez came to discover the body and report it to police. Questions were raised over Rosalez’ testimony when Dr. Mario Estradabran told the court that Slusher died around four p.m. on June twenty-third from manual strangulation. Rosalez was also asked in cross examination about a statement he gave police in 2010 saying that he never saw anything. He then admitted that he was under the influence of drugs just as he was on the day of the murder and when he testified last week.
Meanwhile, Wade in his testimony, raised a question of his own; if Rosalez saw him beating Slusher, why did he wait until after the body was found to call the police? He also said that he was not living in Sandhill for over two years and was only in the village visiting family. According to Wade, he was with his mother and other relatives at the time of the murder. Sentencing has been deferred until Friday.
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Thanks to the jury for not allowing this animal back on the street & Mr. Rosalez for not being intimidated or allowing the assassination of his character to keep him from doing the right thing.
Is the death penalty too much to ask? I’m not sure this angel can be redeemed & he may live off the taxpayers for another 50 years.
I’m glad that Wade is convicted. Dorla was harmless and didn’t deserve to die that way. Sadly, the time of death given by Dr. Estradabran puts a question mark on the statement of the main witness, who was under the influence of drugs and gave conflicting statements. This may ultimately cause this case to be lost in the Court of appeals, where convicted murderers and rapists almost always succeed.
No guilty verdicts because our jury doesnt like to say guilty for murder.
Orlando Wade is the devil and the question he raised in court was just as pointless as his existence in this life.
The court system keeps shocking us, perhaps this time no jury on the board was related to this idiot.
A conviction was long overdue in that court without justice.
Estradabran giving an exact time of death, something is wrong here.. this is the man who after a mere 24 of death claims a body is too decomposed and he is unable to give a cause of death in all other cases. some thing fishy with Estradabran testimony,I think Wade should hang from a rope until he is dead dead dead
Estradabran dah wan dumb @$$!!! all he know what to do dah drink rum.
ORLANDO WADE SHOULD BE HANG, HANG BY THE NECK UNTIL DEAD.
and IF WE CAN’T HANG HIM………….. SEND HIM TO THE PRISON FARM………..
there HE CAN EARN HIS KEEP AND PROVIDE FOR THE THE REST OF SOCIETY.
The answer to Rosalez question is this: He didn’t knw that u were going to kill that poor girl, getting involved with domestic violence is not something that many ppl want to do; but when u show some1 a dead body they are obligated to report it to the police u dumb@$$! And we all know that ur family will cover up for u.
Orlando has the face of a murdering rapist if his family can’t see it then they lying to themselves! Don’t waste the rope, throw his murdering @$$ in the middle of the ocean!
