Cop faces charges in connection with attempted robbery conspiracy

Jermaine Mangar

He first made the news almost a year ago and it appeared that Detective Constable, Jermaine Mangar, an interdicted cop who has now moved from the City to live in Orange Walk, will remain in the headlines as he will now stand trial at the Supreme Court.  The charge is an old one: Conspiracy to Commit Attempted Robbery.  His attorney, Dickie Bradley, indicated to the court that he will not be challenging any particulars in the preliminary inquiry until the case comes up.  The charge follows the famous April first press conference called by Prime Minister Dean Barrow and former Police Commissioner, Crispin Jeffries, in which they said that a ring of police officers was responsible for a series of major armed robberies.  Mangar was charged jointly with Jermaine Palacio and Ernie Hyatt Miranda but only he and Miranda will stand trial for Conspiracy to Commit Attempted Robbery in the April session. The men were accused of the Attempted Robbery of Chon Saan Palace Restaurant and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery after reports were made by its proprietor, Lee Mark Chang that two men visited his establishment and were asking questions about the business operation.  Further reports were that the men returned and were captured on camera but no crime was ever committed as authorities say they were tipped off by one of the accused, Palacio.  The charge was withdrawn from against Palacio in July of last year.  But while Mangar will have to face the music, his alleged partner in the plot, Miranda, never showed up in court on Monday for the start of his preliminary inquiry and a bench warrant had to be issued for his arrest.  Of the nineteen or so witnesses in the case, one of them is a recent remandee, Lavern “Anti-Christ Longsworth who will face trial for the murder of her estranged common-law-husband, David White.

Just a waste of tax payer’s money we all know that the sorry excuse of a prosecutor will end up losing this case they might as well throw in the towel at an early stage and save the tax payers some money.

If Jermaine Mangar still refuses to finger the rest of the corrupt cops who were engaged in that ring, then he should rat in jail like the rat that he is. People in Orange Walk, please keep your eyes on Manger, he just might conspire to do bad again in your town.
Don’t be afraid of citizen arrest either, or to be his punisher.
