Businessman shot in the abdomen

In the other incident, a Belize City businessman is lucky to have survived a shooting this afternoon at the corner of Carnation Street and Western Avenue. Glenn Leslie of Leslie’s Sand and Gravel was shot in the abdomen and had to be rushed for medical treatment. According to police, two men pursued Leslie’s son and he ran into the business. One of the assailants told Leslie to “gimme what you got.” Leslie dropped his cell phone and a hundred and forty-eight dollars in cash. The gunmen picked it up and fled the scene. We found police processing slippers that may have belonged to the assailant. They were also tagging expended shells on the ground. Leslie’s family members including his uncle, Belize Broadcasting Authority’s Louis Leslie were present and assisting the police with the investigation.

Did his son know the men who were chasing him & why? Shouldn’t the crime scene be closed to everyone but the police & the investigator from DPP?

  2. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST says:

    Good luck.
Is all one can offer here in this situation, it seem to me now that this is the only way I can leave tomorrow open with hope for better.

  3. Dre says:

Glad you and you and your son were no seroulsy injured. Things just getting worst that you can even stand infront of your business.

processing the slippers? were skin cells taken for a DNA match or is this a show? i also wonder why so much measuring tape appears for any traffic accident , it appears to be a show for the TV because nothing ever comes out of it. the numbered tags look good but I doubt that the 99cent store camera provide an adequate resolution for evidence gathering.

We the law abiding citizens need to arm our selves too, that is why I can’t blame the gentleman from unitedville, we need to protect our lives and property.
We have to make the first move with these bad boys from the hood.

My goodness!!! These young boys want a good beating, beat them till they passed out.
Then put to clean drains and pick up garbage on the highways until they learn to work for what they want.

Its a shame that our draconian gun laws make it so hard for honest citizens to get guns legally, if this gentleman was armed it would be the criminal in the hospital and not him…

REMEMBER A LAW ABIDING CITIZEN DOES NOT CHOOSE TO BE A VICTIM OF CRIME, IT IS THE CRIMINAL WHO CHOOSES WHO HIS NEXT VICTIM WILL BE…

They said gun control would make Belize safer, look at where gun control has brought us… It is a proven fact that when gun laws are strict on the law abiding, crime always goes up…YOU DONT BELIEVE ME? LOOK AT GUN CONTROL BELIZE 2010’s CRIME STATISTICS…
