Prosser and employees robbed

There was a brazen robbery in broad daylight this afternoon in the old capital. Prosser Fertilizer Company, situated at the corner of Hydes Lane and North Front Street in Belize City, is the latest business to be hit by armed robbers this week.  At around two o’clock this afternoon two armed men entered Prosser brandishing handguns.  According to the manager, twenty-five year old Enrique Henes, two men, one of whom was dressed in black, walked in wielding a black nine millimeter pistol.  They then demanded the store’s proceeds from the cash register taking four thousand, one hundred and thirty-six dollars in cheques and a thousand four hundred and eleven dollars in cash as well as a cell phone worth two hundred and fifty dollars.  The other robber, who wore a camouflage peak cap, white shirt and long blue jeans pants, pointed a pen gun at another employee, Keaton Henry, and stole his cell phone valued at four hundred and fifty dollars.  Both men then fled the scene on bicycles up North Front Street in the direction of the Swing Bridge.
