Corwin Bennett detained for murder of Raymond ‘Killa’ Gentle

Corwin BENNETT

An eighteen year old has turned himself in for the murder of the reputed Kraal Road leader Raymond “Killa” Gentle. So who killed Killa? Well, the man in police custody is Corwin Bennett of Plues Street, and is believed to be a member of the George Street Gang.

After several attempts on his life, Gentle was mercilessly killed in a hail of gunfire on January twelfth, just two days before he was to celebrate his thirty-sixth birthday. He was fatally shot as he supervised the construction of a house at the corner of Fabers and Kraal Roads. In the wake of the street figure’s murder, retaliation was highly anticipated and it came the following night when Trevor Trapp was riddled with thirteen bullets; killing him instantly.

Trapp was an affiliate of Gentle’s, who had crossed over to the rival George Street Gang. Tensions are running high in the city because three of the murders so far this year are gang related and it is feared that warfare will erupt any minute. Burial proceedings for Gentle this past Wednesday went by without incident. In his last years, Gentle was in the process of changing his criminal ways and was working with youths in his area, but when it comes to the underworld, there’s a saying that goes “the only way out is in a box”.

  1. BZNinCALI says:

If locking him up will slow down the murders, then by all means keep him in jail but these guys will be back to the sos while they wait for this one to rejoin them on the streets.

  2. justin mariano says:

  3. CHICAGORILLA says:

The senseless violence in Belize is nothing new. What’s the big deal? The question is, who is next? You get back what you put out or you reap what you sow. Karma is real. Live in peace or rest in it.

  4. Just-Is says:

you are 18 years old and yu give the cops reasons to suspect that you are a nurderer. Such a shame

  6. Earl Grey says:

Send him to THE PRISON FARM ……………… there he can EARN HIS KEEP and PROVIDE FOR THE REST OF SOCIETY…….at no cost to TAX-PAYERS.

BUILD THE PRISON FARM IN TOLEDO………… KOLBE is too close to Belize City.

  7. BZNinCALI says:

Can someone explain why so many of our elected officials were at killa’s funeral instead of walking our streets talking to the next Corwin? Sorry, I just gave Dickie his argument, the boy was arrested to appease his friends in the profession & politics.

  8. Proud Belizean says:

BZinCali, hand wash hand. Politicians and criminals are good friends. They work together. They do favors for each other.

  9. Justice says:

Like evertyone else, he will retain Dickie, Any witnesses will be threatened or killed and he will walk away a free man due to some technicality. I really need something to to make me believe that justice exists in Belize. People see us as a people involved in crime, drugs , corruption and more!
    Bring back hanging!!!!!

  10. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST says:

The bastard does look like a “killa”, indeed.
Unfortunately, even with this animal behind bars the crime wave won’t decrease in Belize, everyday a new killa is replacing the other dead one.
Too many gangs, too many problems, and the death toll rises.
We need our government to set a deadly example of the gang members captured by the police.

  11. CEO says:

just set him free justice will be served very quickly, tax dollars will be saved and less bad man will be on the street. Cruel but true!

  12. CRNCN_CTZN says:

Thats the way it is done in Belize, when you are an up standing citizen they don’t see you or remember you when you die but when you make a name for yourself thru violence the politicians they will see that. Its such a shame. They treat gang leaders like they were doing something good. Bun fire pan unu Politicians thats why the youths of today are doing what they are doing cause you guys in the high official lights respect and condone the nonsense that they are doing. How can there be change and decrease violence if politicians themselves the help and promote it by being apart of a funeral for a gang leader. Thats a slap in the face for us citizens who are trying to live a decent life style. SHAME AND DISGRACE – SHAME AND DISGRACE.

  13. Earl Grey says:

IT is now OFFICIAL…………… THE POLITICIANS ARE IN BED WITH THE GANGS………………..
Who didn’t know about…………… the “HENCH MEN”.

  14. Curious says:

Corwin was labeled a future gangbanger by his teachers from primary school days. They couldn’t discipline him, nor could they put him out of primary school, so they put him out of classes and promoted him to the next grade until they didn’t have to deal with him anymore. The irony of this whole scenario is that “killa” was the kind of person, who used society’s trash like this boy to do his “errands”.

  15. vigilante justice 316 says:

Corwin need to come clean about his other crimes before he dead. I bet some unsolved robbery cases will get solved. If he come out of jail he know he dead, might as well solve a crime or two.

  16. Curious says:

After serving his time in Remand until his case comes up, and gets off due to lack of eyewitness testimony, or on a technicality, perhaps he should pretend he’s “reformed” by purchasing a few football jerseys, and get some kids to play ball, then he too can become a ‘hero’ by Belize’s standard!

  17. eyes on Belize says:

I feel sorry for the young man because he will be gloried for a short while for the person who killed the person. But the truth is his days is numbered. How long can he hide in the small country of Belize. He can’t live in or around his house for the rest of his life. Eventually he will be caught slipping. I just hope something happens real fast before other people who not involved get hurt or murdered senselessly. Belize is filled with fatherless kids, that’s going to see no other choice but the life of crime. If your interested in single ladies with 4 or 5 kids, Belize is the spot

  18. gaza says:

nice job doin dat blood… respect.muahahahaha
