Kareem Gillett pleads guilty to firearm offences

A twelve year old and four other occupants of a house on Castle Street were arraigned in court today. The minor, a standard six student was emotional throughout the proceedings. Early this morning, police searched the home of Belize City nurse Judith Rocke.

The search yielded a nine millimeter pistol and thirteen live rounds of ammo, in a bedroom of the house occupied at the time by Kareem Gillett and Rashawn Rocke.

Eighteen year old Brittney Rudon was also in the house and so was the twelve year old.

Gillett, the boyfriend of Rocke, took the rap and the charges of Keeping Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition without a Gun License, were withdrawn from the others. He was sentenced to two years for each charge to run concurrently.

Bad politicians are like bad parent, the only difference is we can’t chose our parent. So we get brainless individuals to be legislators. The gross stupidity of arresting a twelve year old child along with adults because he happen to be in the house where illegal gun and amunitions are founds, in my opinion is ludicrous. There were enough adults involve to rat on the real culprit. Its becoming a society of gross contradiction, like many situation in the USA when its convenient to charge a minor as an adult.The person is a minor until the law man is involve.
Its bad enoiugh for a child to have to experience cops coming into where he live in the ealy hours of the morning, and then been drag off to police custody with a bunch of lawless adults when he has no say in the matter for which the adults are been arrested for. Its this kind of stupidity that caused attorneys to win cases.
