US Tourist dies during snorkeling trip
We start the news tonight with the story that a US tourist died during a snorkeling trip today offshore Belize City. The cruise tourist, fifty-nine year old Dianna Lynn Meschling, was reportedly part of a group that went to Goff’s Caye for on a tour. Police are at this hour taking statements from the others who were on the trip, but it is known so far that she lost her life when she was chopped by a boat propeller. We’ll have more on this on Thursday’s newscast.

It sounds like a criminal investigation, at least using undue care causing death. Will anyone take it seriously?
is this the same capt/boatguy that was at turneffe elbow sunday 11- midday
he is an accident waiting 2 happen if u want details …ask
I have snorkeled numerous times at Goff’s key onboard the breathless (it was stated that the boat was a 65ft catamaran) the breathless is not this boat. All ppl touring with Landsea tours whislt in the water are escorted back to the boat by one of the staff if they cannot finish the snorkel.
It’s seems that there is negligence on both parties, one u don’t swim ANYWHERE near the stern of a boat regardless if the motors are running or not. and secondly she should have been with a staff member at the time.
My condolences to her family and to the workers of belize who do a great job and will now suffer because of it
