Watchman steals gun and police find it in his home
Daniel Silva, one of the Deputy Leaders of the P.U.P. and the owner of Cahal Pech Resort in San Ignacio, was reportedly robbed by his own watchman. Silva reported to the police that on Thursday night, he secured his licensed nine millimeter pistol and a magazine with six live rounds of ammunition inside a wooden locker at the resort. According to Silva, the watchman, Marvin Virulla, was the only person with access to the weapon in case of an emergency. But on Friday Virulla told Silva that he had left the gun on the floor of the restaurant and it went missing. That story didn’t hold water, especially when police recovered the firearm and ammunition in a search at Virulla’s house. He has since been arrested pending charges of Burglary, Kept Firearm Without a Gun License and Kept Ammunition Without a Gun License.

There is a silver lining here, at least this genius didn’t use the owner’s gun to rob him & end his life.
He had a job, was the payment not enough and he felt he had to rob and steals from his boss. He could have just asked for a raise of pay, communication is a lost art.
There is something seriously wrong with this story, why didn’t they also charge the owner of the firearm? As a gun owner myself this pisses me off cause it only gives kerosene to the anti gun movement’s fire. The parts that strike me are “According to Silva, the watchman, Marvin Virulla, was the only person with access to the weapon in case of an emergency.” and then the part where the guy was charged “He has since been arrested pending charges of Burglary, Kept Firearm Without a Gun License and Kept Ammunition Without a Gun License.” Shouldn’t the gun owner also be charged for supplying a licensed weapon to a person who is not a license holder?
Yoh give people job and this is what u get in return so sad.
Here is a PIT-BULL PERSONALITY…………..HE BITES THE HAND THAT FEEDS HIM.
WE really NEED A PRISON FARM………….WHERE PEOPLE LIKE THIS CAN SERVE THEIR TIME and serve SOCIETY at no cost to tax-payers.
What will happen to the rightful owner of the gun?? it HIS responsibility to look after his own gun…how can he break the law by allowing access to his gun by other people?? double standards again??
poor mr daniel silva get wan taste of the buccut.
sorry fi maga dog, maga dog turn round bite you!!
They have a word for geniuses like this in the UK – NUMPTY!!!!!!!
One big problem here.. what does he mean that the gun was for the taking of the security guard in case of an emergency? He was an unlicensed person and in no way shape or form was to use the gun. Silva should of taken the time to have gained a permit for his employee to have a licensed firearm. So, yes, i am so fed up with employees stealing, which seems to be an entitlement lately, but, Silva holds some accountability here. The norm of the stealing goes without say, but, the accessibility to an unlicensed firearm here in Belize is a severely punished crime, with good reason. When i leave the country i put my firearm at the police station (yeah i know one day it wont be there) so, as not to make it assessable to anyone in my household.
Been thinking about this, I think this case will get thrown out and these are the reasons why.
Burglary === really? If Mr. Silva says the young man was allowed to access the firearm then was it really a burglary? Does it fall under the definition of burglary? YES THE YOUNG MAN MESSED UP AND NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL FOR IT BUT LETS FACE IT our justice system works on technicalities and that sort of thing.
Unlicensed firearm and ammunition ====This will be struck out because the weapon was supplied to him by the rightful license holder which then means if he is convicted then Mr. Silva will also have to face the same fate and we all know that they will not charge Mr. Silva.
well di way bze ah run u blame him for trying to get a gun. think bout it
Hey the gun could have been planted.. I mean it could have been placed there by D. Silva himself. Then call police n give this fake story, so we need a full investigation, to find out if there was something going on between them. DONT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS, most often they are wrong……
