Belize City Council Revenue Collector charged with Theft
In the courts, a fifty-seven year old Revenue Collector from the Belize City Council was charged with the theft of over three thousand dollars. He is Dorien Matthews and he appeared in Magistrates Court this morning after being detained on Wednesday. Matthews pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail of two thousand dollars. His next court appearance is scheduled for April nineteenth. The report was made by thirty-eight year old Frank Thompson, a Revenue Manager at the City Council. According to Thompson, Matthews had not paid in monies that he collected between August third and December fifteenth, 2010. Missing funds adds up to three thousand, three hundred and thirty-eight dollars.

Can anyone keep their hands in their own pockets? The Mayor was accused & beat the rap but the money is still missing. Pappy Davis died, so he can tell us nothing. The vendors have receipts but the City Council don’t have the money & now Dorien is accused of having sticky fingers. You guys are making civil servants look bad….
