Money changer from Corozal robbed at gunpoint

A money changer from the village of San Joaquin in the Corozal District was targeted over the weekend at his home, only this time he wasn’t harmed. The money changer, fifty seven year old Fortunato Dominguez, told police that he was about to enter his vehicle at around six on Saturday morning when two youths held him up and robbed him. Officer Commanding the Corozal Police Station, Superintendent Miguel Guzman, says the incident happened as Dominguez was entering his vehicle.

“Dominguez handed over a black bag containing nine hundred and fifty pesos in coins; equivalent to a hundred and fifty dollars, Belize currency. The male person after taking the bag, ran out of the yard leaving his slippers behind and met up with a second male person who was standing by the street side on the lookout. Both persons then ran into the nearby bushes and made good their escape.”
Corozal police have arrested and charged two Belize City youths in connection with the incident. Orlando Reyes and Giovanni Martinez, both eighteen years of age, have been charged with Robbery.
That’s a tough business to be in, in this day & age. Hopefully the young men who were arrested had the loot & they can be prosecuted & convicted. I’m just grateful no one lost their life.

Don’t send them to prison, public whip the idiots for a few day, then force them to work.
Throw their @$$#$ in jail and let them learn that if u do the crime then u must also be willing to do the time! I hope that their jail time will teach them that being in jail is NO party! Gentlemen u are no free to DROP THE SOAP! !
They are moving from Belize City into the districts to mess around. The public needs to be on the lookout. Police department: please help the community with the neighbourhood watch program…
