B.D.F. corporal fined $13,000 for accident that killed a cop

A Belize Defense Force Corporal was today fined in connection with a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a policeman. Corporal Enrique Montejo must pay a total of thirteen thousand dollars to the court and two of the injured persons. The fine of ten thousand dollars was for the conviction on a charge of Manslaughter by Negligence for the death of Raul Magana, while the six thousand dollars was split up between two persons who were injured in the accident. For those injuries, Montejo was found guilty of Negligent Grievous Harm and Negligent Harm last week before Judge, Denis Hanomansingh. Three character witnesses spoke on his behalf before he was fined. Montejo has until November fifteenth of this year to pay his fines. The accident happened around ten on the night of April fifth, 2006 when a Geo Metro car he was driving crashed into Magana’s vehicle in Ranchito Village, Corozal.
This corrupt cop hit me for a bribe. Did not know he died. Good…The world is round…remember. lol
Adios you said the world is round so watch out!!! We should never say it’s a good thing that someone was killed.The man had family and were left without a father by a drunkard .You should say shame on the law for not sending the killer to jail.
So that’s it????? How much does a this police officer’s life cost? This police officer was killed by a drunken driver and he walks away? No jail time!! So, he can do it again right???
This drunk pays $3,000 to only two of the people he damaged and that’s it??? This is what this drunk BDF Corporal caused:
1. Death of a police officer and father
2. Two broken legs and 2 broken ribs of the police officer’s wife, the broken legs required surgery and pins.
3. Two broken legs that required surgery and pins of the police officer’s son
4 Head injury and one broken leg that left a now 14 year old girl with a limp for the rest of her life. By the way she was the police officer’s daughter. Multiple surgeries.
5. Broken hip of police officer’s mother-in-law. Also required surgery
6. Broken rib and punctured lung of the police officer’s sister-in-law. Surgery
Denis Hanomansingh, does the fine you charged seems just to you???? Do you drive? What if it were you or your family, would the ridiculous amount of $3,000 to only two of these people seem fair to you? Is your job too big for you?? This man was found guilty!!!!
