Kenneth X’s shopping spree with customs officer’s credit card
A Belize City Customs Officer lost his wallet and the person who found it, used his credit card to go on a personal shopping spree. Thirty-two year old Albert Matute reported that the wallet, which contained his driver’s license, voter’s I.D., along with his debit and credit cards, was stolen on January sixteenth. Matute’s credit card is from Atlantic Bank Corozal branch and after the theft; he received a bank statement with purchases amounting to one thousand, five hundred and seventy-nine dollars, which he says he knew nothing about. Proper police investigations have led to the detention of twenty-two year old Kenneth X Jones. Jones was arraigned today for Forgery and Theft. And while the expenses on Matute’s credit card bill are over a thousand dollars, Jones was only charged with forgery for three hundred and forty-five dollars and seventy-four cents that was spent. He was offered bail of three thousand dollars and is due back in court on April fifth. And though Jones managed to meet bail, it was not revealed if he paid cash or used a card.
Well well, this Custom got a feedback of what he mostly does at the border, he just got 1% taken away from all the mordidas he gets at the border (s).
Very funny end comment there. Very tongue in cheek! I can just imagine him going through dozens of cards in his pockets until the court accepts one!!! On the serious side – lock the isiot up for at least 10 years to teach him a lesson.
Surely the retailer(s) should also be held responsible in this fraud case, as they obviously didn’t observe due diligence when they sold their goods to ‘light fingered X’. He must have givien a very good copy of Mr. Matutes signature, but should have been asked for a picture ID. But, maybe not – greed conquers all in Belize!
who believes the customs guy? he just doesn’t wanna pay his credit card and he set up a poor man. customs officers are , sorry most customs officers are like hungry dogs, there is a few i respect very very highly. Customs are still a notch higher then police officers, but the officers that customs send out to enforce the law and catch the contraband goods in the northern districts are the worst dogs out there. They are worst then the corrupt police officers out there. Police are cheap, you can buy them a dime a dozen, customs are a buck a dozen.
who no know that thiefing !@#$% man
