Skydivers drop in on the Jewel

San Pedro is an ideal location for skydiving and the activity has taken root on the island for the past few years.  So when we saw Tsunami Skydivers hovering above the island today it was no strange sighting.  But we learned that the skydivers from the US are not only in Belize for a bird’s eye view of La Isla Bonita, but they also brought along gifts for the community.

“It’s really just to offer the experience, but they do bring a lot of donations; they brought a lot of stuff for the library and to be kind to Belize and the library and a lot of them do volunteer work while they are here—great group.”

“When you’re seeing the island from up there, it is phenomenal, just gorgeous. The water is perfectly blue and you could see trace of cocos and house and stuff and then all of a sudden you pull the shoot and you just meander down. It was great!”

“Well we won’t talk about the bad heart part. Well if you are really afraid to do it, you should never do anything you are really afraid to do. But if you are a little anxious about it, I think that makes it more fun because you are excited about doing something totally different that you have never done before.”

The skydivers will be joined next week by their counterparts from Europe.
