Minor shot by police constable in the City
A twelve year old school girl was shot last night in Belize City. The incident happened when a policeman shot at a pitbull that he claimed attacked him. But the bullet missed the dog, ricocheted and hit the girl in her left palm. The detective constable, twenty-nine year old Obed Arzu, claims that he was walking on Wood Street shortly after ten on Wednesday night when the girl opened a gate and the pitbull ran out and attacked him. He said he pulled out his gun and shot at the dog. Arzu claims that when the bullet missed the dog, it hit a rock and not the girl. The child’s family has made a formal complaint and has requested court action against Arzu and the Crimes Investigations Branch has launched an investigation. We understand that the doctor who examined the child has classified her injury as Wounding.
How lucky the cops who can shoot an un-muzzled dog when on the streets loose……when will GOB do something when innocent citizens are attacked and we no have the “luxury” of carrying firearm??
PITBULLS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL………… well………KEEP THEM CHAINED.
PITBULLS are UNPREDICTABLE and is the ONLY BREED KNOW TO ATTACK IT’S OWNER.
ARREST AND CHARGE THE OWNER!!!
Innocent Citizens,. they didnt shoot the dog or the girl the shot was at the ground. common sense. it was not the bullet that hit the girl but a stone from the ggravel. and i would have poison does dogs long time. they looked for it maybe now they chain the dogs or health do something about those dogs.
This dog was a threat to the community and i am in agreement with Earl Grey that the owner should be charged.
Give the parent a couple dollars & a frozen ideal to put on the goose egg on her head or wherever the stone hit her & tell her to have her backside in bed at a decent hour on a school night. Arzu; back to the shooting range, the dump truck should have been picking up a dead pit bull with a bullet in its head.
