Cab driver takes a ride to Prison

A fifty-four year old taxi driver was taken for a ride to Hattieville today, but he ended up at the Belize Central Prison. And Donovan Reid will remain behind bars until April twenty-seventh when he returns to court on a charge of Aggravated Assault of an Indecent Nature. The alleged victim is a thirteen year old first form student, who claims that she went to Reid’s house at around ten-forty a.m. on March twenty-seventh to make a phone call. While at the house, the minor says Reid offered her some tea and she went to the kitchen to look for sugar. That’s when he allegedly snuck up behind her and pulled her toward him. The girl says Reid had his pants unzipped and started rubbing himself against her, so she quickly left and told her aunt what had happened. Reid was arrested and appeared unrepresented before Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb McKenzie, who denied him bail and ordered that he be remanded to prison.
