Attorney for Pipersburgh says the evidence was scanty
Both defense attorneys made no case submissions on behalf of their clients during a two day voir dire, which was held before they were called to present arguments in trial. Oswald Twist submitted that there was not sufficient evidence against his client, Patrick Robateau, who denied that he was involved in the robbery that ended in murder. That was challenged when another security guard, Carl Ventura, who was also shot but survived, testified that he heard Kevin Alvarez struggling with Robateau, but Twist argued that it wasn’t enough to place his client at the scene. Meanwhile, Peyrefitte’s submission was that none of the witnesses could say where Pipersburgh was when the shooting happened. Pipersburgh did admit to the robbery, but said he left before the shooting occurred. Peyrefitte told us more about the arguments presented on Pipersburgh’s behalf.
Michael Peyrefitte, Attorney
“I felt as if though one, the key witness to the case said that two individuals approached him at the front door. He recognized, Patrick Robateau, according to him, as the red skin person but he said the dark skin person, he didn’t know who he was and it was the first time he had ever seen him. There was no evidence that that person was Leslie Pipersburgh and on that basis then, since there was no connection between the murder of Kevin Alvarez and Leslie Pipersburgh, I submitted to the court that that should not be left to the jury—as well as Fidel Mai—that there was absolutely no evidence as how Fidel Mai died. But the court felt as if though there was enough circumstantial evidence to put to the jury and so because the judge felt that there was enough circumstantial evidence, then he felt that it should go to the jury because by law circumstantial evidence is left to the jury. Although I felt that the circumstantial evidence was so weak, it should not have gone to the jury, similarly to when the crown indicated at the end of their case that they would not be pursuing the deaths of Cherry Tucker and David Flores.”
Another key witness was a Bowen and Bowen Supervisor, who testified that while he was on the phone with K.B.H. security, arranging for cash to be picked up from the company, Pipersburgh knocked off the call. He says that he was locked in a bathroom and when the security guards arrived, they were met with gunfire.
Now you can go hang them an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth they are worthless monsters why lock them up at the expense of the people, with that display in the supreme court my predictions is that they will kill again while in prison. Remember, My Legacy B 4 My People.
Since the prosecutor does not have the …… to seek the death penalty he /she needs to be replaced, it’s a tough job but if you are going to take it you will have to be able to make these tough decisions.
They should lock up Peyrefitte too! Bent as bent can be!!! 4 people were gunned down by these two murderers, and all he is p*ssed off about is that his clients didn’t walk free. maybe it was a no-win, no-fees deal?????? I truly hope so, as he doesn’t deserve any of the blood money from this case!
Now, will we hear about any compensation for the families of the victims? Will the murderers be made to pay towards any? Not likely, any cash available will be eaten up in Lawyers fees……
Huh? Oswald & Michael, what are you two smoking?. Are we supposed to believe that Fidel Mai died of natural causes in the middle of a robbery that your client was involved in?. In for a penny, in for a pound, if not Pipersburg, which one of you were the dark skinned man who fired the shots? Who knows? Representing these fools is not enough of an adrenaline rush for you, maybe one of you wanted a little excitement. I don’t care if you’re not dark complected, admit that you were there, never touched the gun, just blessed the bullets & I am willing to have you do your client’s time & have the streets take care of him. Criminals need representation but I will ask again, how many of you have to die or almost die before you stop coming up with these ridiculous stories? 4 people are dead & none of them committed suicide.
Mr Peyrefitte what you are saying doesn’t make any sense due to the fact that the Bowen and Bowen Supervisor who was supposedly on the phone with K.B.H.put Pipersburg at the crime scene.Even if he didn’t committed the murder he is still an accomplice. What was he doing at the crime scene?
