Mark King becomes U.D.P. Lake Independence candidate
And in news of a political nature, the United Democratic Party held its convention for a new Standard Bearer in the Lake Independence constituency and when the polls closed at four p.m., former City Councilor Mark King, emerged victorious. There are over five thousand electors in the Lake I area, of which only seven hundred and forty-six went to vote, even though it was contested by four aspirants. King got three hundred and seventy-eight votes, Glen Leslie received one hundred and fifty-six votes, Percy Lewis garnered ninety-six and Vandley Jenkins got eighty-two and is the former standard bearer. If you’ve noticed that the numbers don’t add up so far, that’s because the remaining thirty-four ballots were spoiled. And while King has now secured his space on the U.D.P. ticket for the 2013 general elections, it’s an opportunity that he almost missed because his application to contest the convention was initially rejected, without any explanation. But King appealed the decision of the nominations committee, which he says was biased and on February nineteenth, he was granted permission to run in Lake I, which is currently represented by Cordel Hyde.
Wow really? If this looney tunes gets into office crime will only sky rocket as he himself likes to pull out guns licensed to other people on people.
glenn Leslie should have won. I hope the people of Lake I are happy because now mark King and his crew are going to leave them there until time for the big election.

It is very wrong that the gov’t bent and broke all the rules and allowed Percy Lewis to take leave from his desk in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so as to contest this constituency election. Only had he won would he have been asked to tender his resignation. And so today the loser Percy hopped on a bus back to Belmopan to carry on as usual cause he still has his job. When things like this is rubbed into our faces it irritates citizens who try to be law abiding, but as norm, it is typical of this gov’t. So King fishy will get his opportunity to run for electoral position while singer/poet/actor/grenade launcher was awarded Queens honors for his famous walk on the rails in the national assembly. But all those who unprofessionally acted anti gov’t a few years ago have now crawled into their shell taking their licking…they’re so ashamed and afraid to say anything. Perish fools.

Hi All, I use to be a pup until Mark King showed up in my house in Lake I, I tell u i dont care what they say about this guy. He know how to handle people and he does it better than Cordel and all d PUP put together. Mark King has come a long way as a councillor, routing out the evil Moya from city council, and now taking the trash out of lake I. Mark u just keep grading the streets, helping people, taking care of your division. We di feel uh mein just go deh. This election we got u back and wel good fi at least 60 votes on our block. I feel that the people have decided that Mark King will will represent them in the General Elections come 2013. Mark Has great principles, he is driven, motivated and actually very cool to get along with. Get to know him and and u will c he is for real. U know I really think when people make their choice we should respect it and to say he won by almost 4 to one with a huge number of votes. King graded many streets that Cordel did not do for 15 years and still doing many things in lake.
