Chopping victim succumbs to wounds
A recent victim of robbery passed away and now the crime has been upgraded to murder. He is murder victim number forty. On April twelfth, two salesmen were robbed at Belize Food Supply on the Northern Highway. After nine p.m. a truck driven by Carlos Alvarado and his sideman Armando Castellanos entered the compound of the business when they were attacked by a male person wielding a machete. Castellanos was injured while he was opening the gate and Alvarado was robbed of the day’s sales in cash and cheques by another armed assailant. Castellanos had been hospitalized since the incident two weeks ago. The Police Press Officer gave News Five an update.

During the incident, Nolberto Leiva, the Orange Walk branch manager, who had arrived in a separate truck, broke his leg while fleeing into nearby bushes. The robbers got away with six thousand dollars cash and thirty thousand dollars in cheques.
