Yahoo places Barrier Reef on places to see before they disappear

Belize’s Tourism package received a boost earlier today from the online search engine, yahoo.com.  The article listed the top ten destinations tourists should visit before they disappear and Belize’s Barrier Reef, particularly the Blue Hole was listed as the number one destination in the world.  Although the article pointed out the diversity of sea life on the reef, the reason for the visit is because it, like so many other natural wonders, is under threat. The Yahoo article says, “the Belize reef suffered a severe bleaching in 1998, with a loss of fifty percent of its coral in many areas, including much of its distinctive staghorn coral. Since the bleaching, its decline has continued, due to global warming of the world’s seas, agricultural pollution, development, and increasing tourism, which has given rise to more coastal development and an invasion of cruise ships.” The list included places such as: the poles, the Congo Basin, Madagascar, and the Dead Sea.

JUST A THOUGHT…….The article listed the top ten destinations tourists should visit before they disappear and Belize’s Barrier Reef, particularly the Blue Hole was listed as the number one destination in the world. …………….BUT ONE OF THE REASONS ITS DISSAPPEARING IS BECAUSE OF INCREASED TOURISM

sadly, the barrier reef in Belize continue to decline due to global warming, pollution, development, and tourism, it will be here today and gone tomorrow, (so to speak).
It is a personal contribution to yourself to go experience the barrier reefs in Belize or Australia before they are all gone.
Take lots of pictures, for your future grandchildren.

Exactly “blvnjah’! They say tourism a number one reason these places get mess up. Now they want everyone to go see them before it is too late! Rush on out to the Blue Hole and let’s all see it. Or go walk on the reef. Or take a big ship to the arctic and take pictures of polar bears on tiny little icebergs trying to stay afloat. How many people in the world already book their flights? Maybe they should say top ten places to see from a distane. Or top ten places to leave the hell alone while they try to recover from all the nonsense man has done and continues to do. Once it gone, it gone
