9 shootings between Friday night and Monday; two murdered

Jerome Wade

A shooting spree has left two persons dead and seven injured in the past three days. It seemed that the madness was over with the end of the weekend, but there was a flare up again in Belize City.  At about three-thirty this afternoon twenty-one year old Jerome Jason Wade was gunned down on Vernon Street.  The details are still coming, but bystanders say that Wade was inside a car that broke down across from the Commoners Headquarters near the junction with Partridge Street. Wade was shot eight times and he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Wade is no stranger to law enforcement officers. On October seventh, 2010, he and several other men were charged for the home invasion style burglary of the residence of sixty nine year old Rosaline Munnings. Wade was also injured in a shooting over a year ago on Ross Pen Road, which ended in the death of a street figure known as Ervin ‘Beansie’ James. It is not known if that incident had any bearing with his murder today.

Catch the killers, give them a fair trial, then HANG THEM.

  2. I Have Awaken says:

these young murderous thugs are all unaware participants of Dean Barrow’s Hegelian Dialectic.

Take for example: The anti-terrorist legislation of Adolf Hitler in 1930’s Germany. Hitler wanted the capability to detain people without question and hold them in custody without a court hearing. The people of Germany desired no such thing; so Hitler’s minions burned the Reichstag building to the ground. He blamed terrorists for the incident. The media portrayed the event to be a danger to society and the well being of the German people. They demanded that something be done, so Hitler introduced his anti-terrorist legislation with the enthusiastic consent of the people. Does such incident sound familiar to you? That is to say, have any comparable incidents—for example – the seemingly complete out of control crime that is sweeping this country. Dean Barrow has tried to pass this draconian law almost from day one of his Power Trip. Do you think it is a coincidence that crime is so out of control and it seems like our leaders just don’t know how to deal with it, except for bringing up draconian laws? WAKE UP PEOPLE!

  3. MADDYVANDIJKDEREALISTO says:

Why do these murders and shootings keep making headline news in the media of Belize? I demand a substitute for these senseless killings, perhaps a positive change something created with the capacity to know God, or to experience God.

It seems to me that Jerome Wade got exactly what he deserved. Weather or not the incident of Ervin ‘Beansie’ Jameshad had any bearing with his murder, the ……. is gone and your streets and homes are a lot safer.

  8. Justice says:

Seem as if Justice as served to Wade. .He was accused of a person’s death and also charged with the home invasion style burglary of the residence of sixty nine year old Rosaline Munnings. Wade was also injured in a shooting over a year ago on Ross Pen Road, which ended in the death of a street figure known as Ervin ‘Beansie’ James. So what was the purpose of his existence? One useless thug down, how many more to go in order for Belize to resort to the paradise we once knew?

  9. Mi Bally says:

First it was jaguar, then restore Belize now gsu all seem to fail..how many Police substations have this crowd slosed down. SavU police station close down, Belama police station close down, BTL park police station close down, Vernon st police station close down, Yarborough Police staion close down. George street police staion close down. no way fancy jingles, and hollywood style informercials will stop crime. you need police men, well equipped on the ground and have their presence felt.

  10. BZNinCALI says:

The streets did what the court refuses to or is unable to do. Now, we just need to wipe out the rest.

  11. MACAL RIVERA says:

HEY WEH DI GSU DEH, HMMM DEH MUSY TAKE ONE WEEKEND OFF AND LOOK WEH HAPPEN,

  12. Gemini says:

I cant understand how come this guy Wade is out on the street already when he was charged for a home invasion. no wonder the crime will never stop, the laws need to be change.

  13. eyes on Belize says:

The Government can’t handle Belize Financially, and Crime wise. All the politicians we put in steal up all the money, and don’t give a Dam about tha youths them. It don’t matter who we elect, because it’s the same Bs and it’s ruining Belize. We should really consider giving back Belize to the English Government to restore order and save Belize

  14. fromafar says:

Early Grey, I’m guessing you’re a contractor, hoping to build your suggested site? Let me ask you something, who do you think pays for the running and paintenance of such a site? If the government doesnt run it, a private company will, whom the government will have to pay. Unless I’m mistaken nothing, and i dont believe i am, the Belizean taxpayers are paying for the prisons in Belize.

  15. Swamp Dragon says:

To “fromafar”; Earl Grey’s Prison Farm in his mind is a self sustaining prison. Meaning all work done by Prisoners would generate income to pay for the operating expenses. It is a good idea. It would take some start up money but after a while pay for itself and maybe even turn a profit. He always says they can build school desks, grow crops for the school lunches, etc. Of course it cost money. But Belizeans gone pay either way to the Prisons. He is suggesting that while they locked up they be useful and cover their costs with their own labor.

  16. Justice says:

I agree with Earl Grey’s idea. Take it even further, they are to grow their own food so if they do not they starve to death and do justice to the human race. tax payers should not be assiting in giving criminals free living. Make it memorable for them to be in there so they do not care for a revisit.

  17. belizeanpride says:

i’d say i agree with earl grey also make the prison farm for their prison term and make them work for their own living and maybe they can help produce local products as earl grey says which would be very good idea if only our baldhead pm would have some sense as how we strive everyday with the hardship and ontop pay taxes for the living of those inside the prison, living like free criminals with food three time daily while we work for them as tax payers.

  18. Toucan says:

I agree with grey, the prisoners need to earn their bed and food hell put tax payers money to better use and not in the ministers pocke either. Value, culture and belief is lost among Belizean we are crying for help and the ministers are smiling and rolling in luxury built on tax payers money. how sweet, its only a maater of time b4 crime hit on their steps.

  19. Earl Grey says:

AND ………… WE’LL NEED A SPECIAL PRISON FOR CROOKED POLITICIANS TOO……
