Youth Business Trust entrepreneurs showcase their products
Today over thirty members of the Business Youth Trust from around the Caribbean gathered at the Radisson Fort George Hotel for the opening Ceremony of the Caribbean Regional Conference. The event, which brought together mentors and young entrepreneurs, is geared at highlighting the work of the organization and future plans. As a part of the conference, an exhibition of enterprising ideas from the young entrepreneurs was on display. Deanna Peyrefitte, General Manager of Belize Youth Business Trust tells us more.
Deanna Peyrefitte: General Manager, Belize Youth Business Trust
“What you are seeing here today is a gathering of Caribbean Youth Business Trust. We’re a group of youth business trust throughout the Caribbean who use the same model to cater to young entrepreneurs and so we all use mentorship, business assistance and business financing to help our young disadvantaged youths to realize their dreams and ideas and start up their businesses.”

“So what’s the objective of this particular conference?”
Deanna Peyrefitte
“This particular conference is focusing on reach impact sustainability, highlighting what, who we’ve impact, how we’ve reached our people and our communities and how we’re going to go forward. We’re part of a regional funded project by the IDBMIF and it’s coming to an end so we’re gathering in this fourth year of our project is how do we go forward, how much we’ve achieved and what do we want to see happen in the next few years.”
Andrea Polanco
“I see also out here you have displays from some of the Caribbean territories represented here today?”
“Yes entrepreneurs came in from the different regions and part of what we thought would be good is to show what has come out of the entrepreneurs that we have sponsored. So everything you see here today is from an entrepreneur who comes from either Barbados, Trinidad. Unfortunately, Jamaicans, and some of the other countries couldn’t bring but this is a good representation from what is coming out of our entrepreneurs and what we’re actually sponsoring. It’s really the reality of what we do every day.”
The entrepreneurs will also get the opportunity to network and market their work while in Belize.
Ash trays that’s the best you can do. Shameful, where is the leadership in this program? It’s a waste of money and everyone’s time if don’t teach them how to imagine and be creative. Those ash trays look like stuff I saw thirty years ago being sold at the airport.
