Poll asks if you feel safer on the streets with rise in murder
Government is introducing tough new legislation to battle crime which the police say is down. Do you feel that the streets are safer even though the number of murders is up? I have traveled to Africa, Europe, Asia, India and many other countries in the World, and stayed in those countries for long period of time in bazaars/market place local neighborhoods mingling and socializing with poor nameless, faceless people and felt much safer with them than in Belize. Quite recently I was in Belize City my homeland & place of birth and very sadly and unfortunately so, not for a moment did I feel safe in the streets in Belize, not even when I was travelling in an automobile or bus. During my entire stay in Belize I felt much anxiety and apprehension even when I was in the supposed to be safety of the home/house. The entire environment even around the Police felt very hostile. Subsequently, I can imagine what those who live in this very unfortunate environment of murder maybe feeling therefore my answer would have be a definite no.
The murder rate is up? I feel safer already!
Hard to trust anything the government does. We need to see some strong effects.
If safer means feeling paranoid like a junky off heroine then I guess I feel safer…NOT!!! I can’t walk the streets or go into any store if I don’t get the feeling that myself or the establishment will get held at gun point. I am a virtual prisoner in my home. When I leave for work in the morning I can’t wait to get home to lock myself in my house behind the burglar bars. I feel much safer there than walking Albert Street with armed police officers around me.
UNLESS GSU IS AROUND I FEEL SAFE, OTHERWISE NO!!!!!
When more than 90% of the country is happy that we are talking about implementing the death penalty, it is pretty clear that no one feels safe or safer. When we know that regardless of race, age or socioeconomic status we can be taken out by some trigger happy idiot just because, the rest of the crime rates being on the decline does not mean squat. Let’s get real, no matter what s promised to us in the hereafter, we all want to live the best life we can, for as long as we can & pass away peacefully in our sleep. To answer the question. NO.
To feel safe i put my bulletproof vest on and carry my 9mm other than that not even walking with those lousy shooting cop of ours would make me feel safe…nuff said
“Do you feel that the streets are safer even though the number of murders is up” SERIOUSLY! OUT OF ALL QUESTION TO BE… WHAT A QUESTION TO POST?
