What started out as ‘woman fumfum’ ended up with arrests and allegations of police brutality. That’s right; a small quarrel between the daughters of two families on Sunday evening ended in the detention and charges of four women from the Beeks family. On Tuesday, Consita Beeks told us that her daughters were threatened and they are unable to get fair treatment from police officers at the sub-station on Mahogany Street. Beeks also alleges that a police officer hit one of her daughters.

“Bout how he gah fi he licensed piece and he wah kill deh and he wah juck deh up and he have policeman weh dah fu he friend and last night my daughta deh suppose to sleep eena piss house dat dah weh he send the threats.”

“Yes, yes. When I look I si di police deh pull up now and deh come, all my lee grand baby deh een ah di yaad deh suh, the baby di bawl. Mi daughta got ih baby weh just five months, deh come di strong she, I tell deh she nuh eena it, she neva deh deh suh she mi deh cross dah wedding. The next one she come out and she have ih baby she mi di cook suh she tell deh mek she guh cut off the stove. Oh no one ah the police lady come by the hand and di strong ah the next man come by the next side, well she di try mek deh nuh hurt ih baby. The police man knock ah, the police man numba dah 647. Ih knock ah…”

“No pahn ih hand and then when ih punch ah now I gone toah and tell ah nuh di knock my daughta cause dis nuh right, unu come een yah di harass my pickney. Weh ah happen to ih baby, ih got wah five months old baby she wah tell me bout yuh daughta deh nuh wah get no bail till twenty four hours. Weh my daughta deh duh suh bad fuh cyaa get bail fuh twenty four hours?”

“Deh still di deh. Deh got deh di fingaprint and all kinda simpleness deh een deh suh. One ah di daughta nuh eena it. She got ih baby home and dehn deh wah tell me what. If nobody deh fuh tek di pickney then the baby just gwen dah children’s home.”

“Yes, yeh, because I ask deh I can’t mek my statement against the people deh to? Dehn the bwai, the granny, the great grand tell me that I can’t mek no statement till after the case.”

The police say that the four women were charged with harm and were scheduled to appear in the Magistrate’s Court this morning.
YUP They are always innocent alter boys-alter girls being harassed by the Police… YEEEEPPPPPP
THE MEDIA DOES NOT NEED TO RUN THIS STORIES, BY THE WAY THEY REPORT IT WE DO NOT NEED TO SEE THEM ANYMORE CAUSE WE ALREADY KNOW THAT ALL ARRESTS AND I MEAN ALL ARRESTS MADE BY THE POLICE ARE WRONG AND THEY ALWAYS ARREST INNOCENT ALTER BOYS AND ALTER GIRLS.
It’s appalling the brutality that people are constantly subjected to at the hands of the Belize police and nothing ever comes out of it! I am saying it on this forum so it could be recorded…..PEOPLE HAVE GOTTEN ENOUGH. Why the Police called out? Cuz them women fighting for a long time! Then wah happen? Them women probably curse the police or worse. That wah happen with people that quarrel out in the yard for everyone to see. They got not enough dignity to handle their affairs inside, I doubt they handle themselves properly when the police arrive. I agree, we don’t need to hear or see every story weh the people cry foul against the police. Brutality? Lock her @$$ up for a week and send her home. I would wager anyone that ALCOHOL was involved and may still be.
