Body of drowned man found
In Tuesday’s newscast we reported on eighty-one year old Dalton Franklin, a resident of Lord’s Bank, who disappeared underwater when the dory he went fishing in the day before suddenly capsized in the Belize River. Several search efforts were later attempted by local authorities near Burrell Boom Village in the wake of the incident and up until news time yesterday there were still no signs of the elderly fisherman. On Monday Franklin had gone on a short fishing trip with four other men when the dory he was in overturned. While his partner was able to be rescued from the river Franklin wasn’t as fortunate as he went under and never resurfaced. Another team was dispatched last night and the body was subsequently discovered. A post mortem examination was scheduled to be conducted on Franklin’s body this afternoon.
My condolences to the Franklin family.
