Gordon Brooks to stand trial for accident that killed 1 and injured 6
A teacher from the Belmopan Comprehensive School was killed and six others were injured in a traffic accident on the Western Highway last March. One man was charged with Manslaughter and when a preliminary inquiry concluded late Tuesday evening, it was decided that Gordon Brooks will stand trial at the Supreme Court. On March, fifth 2010 Brooks was driving a Ford Explorer, accompanied by three American tourists, heading from Belmopan. At the same time, Eomi Quetzal, Andrea Gonzalez, Ulyses Augustine and Carlisle Grinage were returning to the capital in a Toyota Corolla car after an all day teacher’s retreat. Brooks lost control of the SUV at mile thirty-two and swerved into the car; totaling it on impact. Grinage’s injuries included a broken neck and several shattered bones; he died instantly, leaving behind a wife and three children. The other teachers and the tourists received varying degrees of injuries, but survived. During the PI, Brooks was unrepresented, but since he was committed, he is seeking legal advice from Attorney Simeon Sampson. He was released on bail of six thousand dollars.
Bring out the big guns, DPP must look like they mean business. Sampson to the rescue.
THERE ARE NO ACCIDENTS………ONLY SOMEONE’S IRRESPONSIBILITY COMING TO BARE……
