Bus operators receive support from COLA and demand old routes
We have been reporting on the precarious situation in the bus industry. Last Friday, the Minister of Transport, Melvin Hulse agreed to suspend for twenty-one days, bus routes approved for the north but over the weekend. However, the suspension did not include the changes already made to Western routes and chaos prevailed at the bus terminal in the city when buses were about to proceed on schedule. The Belize Bus Owners Cooperative says the Minister of Transport Melvin Hulse has disrespected them and they have set a deadline of mid-day on Thursday for him to remove the runs granted to Sergio Chuc’s West Line as well as to re-instate the runs held by the Cooperative. Earlier today, COLA came out in full solidarity of the B.B.O.C. in its demands to the Minister. And according to COLA, if the demands are not met, COLA will support the cooperative in quote “organizing, facilitating and executing of any direction.”
Weldone COLA,Our so called leaders need people that are going to take a stands against corruption.
BUs owners all you guys have to come together to protest, just as the Chinese could shut down Belize because they are not happy with the crime situation so you all should form a massive protest with your buses through the major streets of the city.Don’t. Give up fight for your daily bread.Let the MInister get the sense.
Its time for belizeans to Fight your their rights, been violated by the very people who we put in power,we elect them,so they can look after us,not so we can be rape, kill, etc, ministers hulse gets everything free, has a big pay check,so he can buy food, and whatever he wants, poor belizeans dont have that right.
What is our government doing to the poor people who is trying to make a day to day living. I think our leaders need to use common sense and think before making decisions. We are living in a democratic country. Proud of Cola and Belizeans to keep on fighting for thier rights. In Belize anyone can be a minister and that is why we are struggling the way we are.
Not sure but I am wondeing if some one hands are getting butter under the table or if some minister has shares in that bus company to just communize the bus routes!!
Final saying,
Minister hulse ( Why small H because wise people deserves the capital in their name and this is a dumb decision that was made by the minister) do you know the meaning of democracy? Dictatorship is not allowed in Belize? It hurts my heart to have to comment about a minister of my party like this, but wise up man!!!
