San Ignacio man killed because of romantic liaison

It was a violent weekend in the city and the west. Early on Saturday evening in downtown San Ignacio, a man was killed in front of a restaurant and an acquaintance will be charged for his murder. David Guerra was stabbed once in the chest and died shortly afterwards. According to his family, the suspect, forty-nine year old May Bush, has given a statement to the police taking responsibility for the crime. The motive is not yet confirmed, but it appears to be over a romantic liaison among members from both families. News Five’s Andrea Polanco reports.

Tonight two Santa Elena families are in shock. The Guerra family is getting ready to bury their son, twenty nine year old David Guerra while the Bush family will have one of their own remanded for murder. On Saturday evening shortly before five, Bush and her common-law husband were socializing at Yan Zhong Restaurant and Bar downtown San Ignacio when some minutes later a fight broke out outside of the establishment that left one man dead with a single stab wound to the left side of his chest. Fifty-nine year old Juan Guerra recounted the eye-witnesses testimonies of his son’s murder.

“What the people told me that there were many many eyewitnesses that my they saw two guys holding my son from the hair, which it is the person who commit the murder husband and the other guy to right now I don’t know who he is. And emm the lady husband hold him from the hair and the other one come and hold him from his two hands and she come and ih stab my son.”

“So do you know David was doing down in that area near the restaurant?”
Juan Guerra
“No, I don’t know what he was doing really don’t know nothing. But according to the Chinese that my son was not there and he was just passing by.”
Bush had reportedly threatened the Guerra family on a previous occasion.

“The woman, I know ah like May Bush eh had problem with my family. Because about one month ago she come right yah right in front at my house and start insult me and my whole family and she halla with big loud that she will kill one of my son. That’s what she says; I will destroy you and your family. So but with David, no other body, anybody I know she have no other problem. What she had against my family I really don’t know.”
Today Guerra says he’s hurt and in disbelief that the police left his son to die that day:

“And that is what hurt me more when the police reach they went and handcuff my son and throw him in the vehicle and my son was telling them he is the one who get stabbed and if they can please take him to the hospital and the police ignored all that and they stayed there until my son bleed to death. So in this case I put blame to the police because they are the ones who shudda mi take my son to the hospital and maybe he was going to be saved.”

But to leave him to die like a criminal is not justifiable, Guerra says, because his son was not a troublemaker:

“That’s one of my good son, my good son. I don’t know when he drink, I don’t know if he is sober because anytime he come he just go to his room and he go and sleep and the next day then I notice he’s at home.”

“So if he had any problems he wouldn’t maybe talk to you or tell anybody about it?”
Juan Guerra
“Yes, he would do tell his brother and his same brother he was talking to that day, if he have any problem he will tell his brother. So my son who is his brother is surprise because he didn’t tell him nothing.”
Bush will be remanded to the Hattieville Prison tomorrow on a single charge of murder. Her common-law husband was released without charge. Reporting for News Five, I am Andrea Polanco.
San Ignacio Police did not comment on the allegations made by Guerra that his son was left to die.
The question is not what he was doing there, the question is why the young & old don’t seem to have a lick of common sense. Why are the other two idiots who restrained him not under arrest?.
GUess then police should be charge for letting him die. they new very well that the guy is well known for what he is. one criminal in the streets.! hence a reason why he was left to die!

Did anyone notice the title says “San Ignacio Man killed because of romatic liaison” and then the story never mentions any romantic liaison at all? The person questioned had no idea why his son was killed.

May Bush is a woman who has had over one hundred men she has about one dozen children with different men, all she does is drink drink and party, most of the time she neglets her kids to go partying, you can always find her at the local bars drinking, she is about fifty years and most of her men are less than twenty years, the life May Bush lived is what lead her to this, i knew that someday she would get in serious problem and it happen, now she will spend the balance of her life behind BARS!!!!!

Belizeanpride, no offence or disrespect i don’t know any of the parties involved, but it doesn’t matter if who was in the wrong or what both parties have done in the past, the fact of the matter is that a crime was commited and justice should be served. If the young man was a drug dealer, trouble maker, that still did not make him any less of a man I leave with this to beare in mind, a man’s life was taken and nothing can justify this act because we don’t have the right to take anyone’s life except for the man above.
