Annual Summer Camps begin

School’s out and if you don’t have any plans for your kids this summer, Peter Lacey says you can send them over to his eight annual summer camp. Director Lacey says that they have hosted a thousand and two hundred primary school students over the years and expects to accommodate three hundred students from the Pre-School level to Standard six this year.

“It begins from the twenty-seventh of June to the twenty-ninth of July at Holy Redeemer Parish Hall. The cost of the program is sixty dollars; it’s a five week program and the registration begins tomorrow June twenty-third, twenty-fourth and the twenty-fifth.  And the twenty third and twenty-fourth is Thursday and Friday, that is from eight a.m to five p.m. and we go right through the lunch hour and on Saturday the twenty-fifth we’ll go through the lunch hour as well.”

“What are some of the activities? What are some of the things the students will be doing?”

“We do for the lower division; we do reading, phonics, math, we also do a week of sports. For the older children we do reading and math and for the first time since 2005 we’re bringing back Pre-P.S.E. for the standard five students going into standard six we will be doing a brief preparation for the primary school examination and that will be an introductory course leading up to an evening class that I will be conducting this year.”
