Congratulations to Team Belize at Special Olympics Summers Games
You’ve probably heard of the riots in Greece, but there’s also good news from that country, where the Special Olympics Summers Games are taking place. Team Belize defeated Indonesia two to one on Tuesday and took the lead in its group. Today the athletes were confident on the football field and played hard against the boys from Chile to keep the top position. The news from the head coach, Andy Aspinall, is that the game started well, but poor defense gave Chile a two-nil lead in the first ten minutes. That shook the team’s confidence and at the half, Belize was still down by two. After a stern pep talk, the athletes headed back to the field determined to take the game. Darroll Lambey beat three Chile players to score the first goal for Belize. Four minutes later, Ernest Lambey passed the ball to Darroll who sent it back into the net. At the whistle, each team had two goals and with today’s tied game, Belize remains the number one seed in its group. On Thursday the team plays a decisive game Singapore, which will determine whether they’re heading for gold, silver or bronze.
Way to go Team Belize
Yeah Darrol!!!…..
This is what is expected from Belize…Don’t you think it’s time to fully support this new generation of talent. Keep it up.
