Belize City man remanded for attempted burglary charge

But in the Belize City Magistrate Court, forty-one year old Elroy Saldano, a resident of Plues Street, was discovered on the property of Sergio Eck on the night of June twenty-third. Eck alleges that Saldano was attempting to burglarize his home located on Bishop Street. Today Saldano appeared before Magistrate Kathleen Lewis and was read a single charge of attempted burglary. Saldano, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until July twenty-eight. Saldano, who is on another attempted burglary charge, was unable to pay seven hundred dollars for two previous offenses, for which he told the court he will serve seven months imprisonment. Whilst at court this morning, Saldano was taken away to the Queen Street Police Station pending investigations into another burglary that occurred over the weekend.

Obviously fining him is not helping, before he traumatizes another homeowner who may end up putting a bullet in him, lock him up for a while.
